the other insurance co. is paying for your rental. they should be the ones that are getting mad for the body shop dragging their feet, not you.

Take it somewhere else. Pretend to be writing the check for what you owe them and then dont give it to them, just make sure your car is on the flatbed and on the way already.

Sounds like the car was pretty messed up I feel for you it happended to my month old wrx on xmas day no less. Anyway make sure you get a extra check cut by them (the insurance company) to you for the deminished value of your car. My wrx was lightly damaged like 3k worth and I got a check for about $650 doesn't make everything better but it helps the pill go down alittle easier. There is no arguing about the fact that you car will be worth a good bit less.

I should have included that I did not get a rental. When the accident occured an illegal immigrant was driving, his brother, who owned the car, was in the passengers seat. Therefore, the driver has fled and at first I did not look for a rental as I was worried about if the other insurance was going to actually pay. Anyways, 10 days after the wreck the police report was released, which cited the other driver. After having argued with their insurance adjuster about the fault, they had accepted blame on the release of the police report. Now, I am fighting to get the other insurance to pay the deductable. In the mean time, I have been catching rides with family members.

You took your car to the worst Mitsu place in the state. You should of took it to a good body shop or at least done a little research. They are VERY slow and they do lie a lot and have high prices. My sale was fraud with them and I returned my car 4 days later with 300 miles and a full refund. I could of sued them but it was not worth my time.

The insurance company is ****ing you around. I bet you are under 30 and they pull this crap all the time. I know my father owns a insurance company lol. Get a lawyer to contact them and tell them to stop screwing you around.

My car is being repaired at Hendrick Collision Center in Gwinnett(Not my first choice but Blue Ribbon repair center for Nationwide and was the best option on their list). The Mitsu dealership is the one that is shipping the parts.

You need an attorney. The owner of the vehicle is responsible for your rental car and repair costs if an uninsured driver was driving his vehicle.

I'm currently going through a lawsuit where a guy totaled my car and have learned a lot about the law when it comes to car accidents.

I agree. Contact an attorney. They will do this on contingency...

The other insurance is paying for repairs; I am just still waiting on them to put the money for the deductable down, which I expect they will. Most of the original post was background info.

My main concern is the status of the part #8501A243 and when it will arrive. Anyone have suggestions on who I can contact to try and get this part here faster.

A friend of mine had a similar situation with his Maxima. He went to the body shop on the day it was supposed to be done and the place was closed for the day, so he decided to down around the back and see if they were keeping the car inside like they said they would. When he got down there he looked in the windows on the bay door and his car had not even been worked on yet. Not even moved. He had it out with them and managed to smooth things out and get the car back, which wasn't even done right and he had to take it back. I would exhuast all other possibilities before hiring a lawyer because that is going to cost you money.

I got into an accident and damaged my driver side rear quarter panel. I needed a new wheel, tire, tail lights and wing. I also needed some bodywork done. The body shop that was approved by my insurance company said that it would be done in a month. Well, 3 months passed before I could get my Evo back. Body shop guy gave excuses like wing gas cap and wheels had to be special ordered from Japan…I’d get an attorney if I were you.

It IS pretty normal to have a major delay on parts. Plus, you have to remember, the body shop doing the repair/reassembly has no idea how an Evo goes together, so they're constantly running to their manuals or calling a Mitsu dealership over to help.

Very common practice, 2.5 months is indeed a long time though.
