"The production Corvette coupe is one of most aerodynamic shapes on the road today with a 0.29 coefficient of drag (Cd)."

Coupe - Convert - Z06
- 0.29 --- 0.33 --- 0.31

All the more reason for Mitsubishi to offer a Full Under Body Aero Paneling option for the car. That could bring the Cd down another .02 and probably get the lift numbers zeroed out or some actual downforce!

Same great autocross/gymkhana handling but even more "Watch Out" on the bigger more open tracks!

Bring on the Carbon Fiber Aero Packages! A Rear Diffuser alone could make a huge difference.

What's going on with Shiv's piece?

That is not a horrible Cd. Currently, most cars target .30, but as ours is more specialized, stability at speed is more important than a slippery shape. When you mention the Insight at .19 Cd, imagine if that car could go 150? It would roll over before then. Also, the Evo DOES drop off quickly if you lift off the gas above 100 mph. I tried it while I was driving through New Mexico. Also, since it is drag-limited, there was no need for a speed limiter in the ECU, hence the 157 mph top speed is drag limited, not ECU-limited. Finally, wind noise in a closed (vs. convertible) car is chiefly due to the shape of the A-pillar and its molding (the A-pillar is the one holding the windscreen). If any of you have driven the Evo really fast, you'll know it is extremely stable and confidence-inspiring.

i don't know what the big deal is w/ Cd. it's what makes the car look good!!! murcielago and modena have .35 or higher i think. still would you buy a ferrari modena if it was the fastest car in the world w/ honda insight's body and incredible Cd that goes w/ it??? i like the way Evo looks and so don't care about the Cd. it really doesn't matter in Drag racing until your trap gets to 130mph+ and even in road racing, there are very few tracks in which Evo can hit 130+ lastly, would you have bought your EVO if it looked like toyota prius???

New NSX Type-R is:

Cd = .32
CL= -0.100
CLF= -0.040
CLR= -0.060

Downforce instead of Lift at speed.

i think an open-wheel race carcar is greater than 0.50 (edit: an F1 car is actually >0.75 cd!!). 0.36 is not bad.

We sacrifice Cd for downforce. It's ok. We stick to the road better. We don't have a .36 because we suck, we have it because we stick! Be happy!
