Are you a better driver because you drive an Evo?
Are you a better driver because you drive an Evo?
I went to an indoor cart racing place in suburban Chicago http://www.chicagoindoorracing.com/ . There were eight other people in my group. We had three 15-lap qualifying races and one 30-lap championship. I won two out of the three qualifiers and I won the championship.
The only "training" I've received is one afternoon two years ago at the Mazda Rev It Up. It was valuable to me because I never knew about braking, steering and accelerating and how you should never do two of them at the same time. That was about the only thing I was consciously paying attention to as I was turning laps yesterday.
I still don't think it was the Rev It Up tip that made me better. I think it was because I drive a race car every day. The skills I use when I fling my car around easily transferred to driving a cart.
Do you think you're a better driver because you drive an Evo? (This is probably best answered by people who've had their cars for a year or more)

Yes An EVO can aviod alot of issues too. like avaiding idots on the road either by outbraking the problem, or getting the hell out of the way. Jump in another car expecting the great handling, and kiss your sorry *** goodbye.
a car doesn't make anyone a better driver. the driver makes the car better.
yes the evo handles and stops great, but any moron can crash an evo into a tree at 10mph. just like any moron can crash a fiat no matter how fast they are going.

First of all, we are SMARTER because we bought EVO's in the first place.
Second, the EVO has the best handling/price ration from all cars out there.
Third, smarter people are better drivers!!
I would say to a certain degree, yes. Mainly because of how sensitive the car is to your every move. I really forces you to think about everything you do, whereas in most cars, there's a certain degree of "slop" in the system.
Smarter people are better drivers....
......that's why all of the F1 drivers have PhDs.....in fact they had a contest on that british show Top Gear with some smart-a$$ scientists...and they did pretty bad...and all of my friends with PhDs get cheap-a$$ cars and they drive like they're paranoid.....and finally I didn;t mean to pick on you....just the comment.....

ehh i dont think it makes you any better...i think seat time is the best thing anyone can have no matter what car. but to each his own, the car can make a noob feel a little over confident for sure.
What idiot told you that you don't do any two of the three functions of driving you mention at the same time?!?!?
It is common practice to combine turning, braking and accelerating when on a road course.
