So, I heard that toluene is equivalent to race gas. Sounds kind of dangerous to throw a paint thinner in to my gas tank. I'm going to put a gallon of race fuel to hopefully up the 91 here in OK. I looked and it sounds like 10% or 1.2 gallons will up me to around 94.2 octane.so does this sound safe?

 

yes, it is safe.
buy mystery oil from pepboys and use that with it.

 

yeah adding a gallon is fine but you don't want to fill the tank with it though...pump gas has additional additives that obviously aren't going to be in paint thinner. I think there is a big thread about this somewhere on here.

 

you will need about three gallons of 100 in your full tank to get 93.

100 octane x 3 gal = 300
91 octane x 11 gal = 1001
1001+300 = 1301
1301/14 (total # of gal) = 92.9 octane

 

I called the place that's sels 110 octane he said that leaded would ruin my 02 sensors and cats. I better wait on that. But they do carry 104 octane unleaded

Don't exceed 30% toluene to gas ratio. And handle it carefully - avoid skin contact and breathing it in. Oh, but it works like a ****...
