Mbc

I am getting ready to purchase a MBC. I am trying to choose between the Halman or Forge. What do you guys have and what do you recommend.

Thx!

Sorry about the grammatical error on my poll. I can't figure out how to edit it.

They're the same price and quality except that the Forge has a ratcheting knob, which is very handy. Both work great, and I have used both successfully. I prefer the Forge for the same price...

Both very good units.

Can't go wrong with either one.

On the subject of MBC's

The main issue with the evo specifcally is that it has a rather over loaded smallish turbo trying to hold high levels of boost

ALL MBC's must have a bleed hole in the wastegate line which creates a boost leak - this bleed hole allows the watsgate to close when the MBC spring closes

Some units such as the TXs and Turbo Smart actually have dual bleed holes

The units with large bleed holes create too much of a boost leak and the turbo falls down in boost too much

The Hallman and the Forge both have small bleed holes and work great

I prefer the forge

I have seen many Hallmans which stiffen up over time and become frozen and very hard to turn

The initial batch of Forge were having some issues with polishing compound stuck in the bleed hole

The newest Forge units I have recieved are all 100% clean and work perfectly

If you do get a Hallman make sure its the PRO unit as the RX does not work as well on evos and costs more

Thanks.......I didn't know Forge had the ratcheting knob over the Hallman.

AL,

I'll be buying the Forge UNOS from you most likely with the sale price you have.

Unless someone else has it on sale for less!?

I voted Hallman because that is what I have. They are both good units, so go with either one.
