How long will they stay on the lots...

Hey guys, I used to be on these forums a while ago, I didn't do too much posting as I didn't have an evo, just a reader, but I lost my account so I made this one!

My question is, I am planning to get an Evo at around the end of the year, I've been doing some research and reading around the last couple days and I saw that the production of the IX's are stopping in August 2006.
How long do you guys predict there will be a good selection (I will be in L.A. Cali) of IX's after August 2006? I am leaning more towards an MR aswell...
Basically what I'm trying to figure here is, how much pressure I have on time in order to get the car that I actually want.

I was planning to get the car in around September or October....

Thanks guys, and I'm glad to be back on the forums.

You'll probably find a couple of "cursed" yellow ones but probably not too many left. If "will they be extinct" is what you are asking... not likely , but you might resort to not exactly what you want or someone elses scraps (used).

"Cursed"...do you say that because they're had to sell?

I don't get the point of ur response... The whole point of this is that I don't want to get stuck with not many options, or none. Clearly if I didn't mind buying a used Evo, I would have never posted this thread.

A IX MR SE? yeah their will be. I know what you mean though I dont have my Evo yet either and im thinking of just getting a IX MR I dont think I want to wait wait for the SE either. I guess its a good deal for the GSR but I cant see the point in the MR it pretty much just gets a body kit and red stiching in the seats. The GSR gets pretty hooked up though.

I don't know if I like the body modifications on the SE, also will the base prices of the SE be the same as the current IX's?

I know there are a couple people who talk to dealerships all the time, or people who work at dealerships, so if you can make an educated guess as to how long I can wait to have a good selection of IX MRs non SE, please reply... thanks!

I talk to one guy that works at South Coast and im trying to remember off the top of my head what the price window was I am almost postive that the MR will be about 500 more which is not to bad for leather and red stiching.....but im not sure on the GSR..sorry its prob gonna be a bit $$ atleast thats what I would think. I say you still have a couple months open to get a IX MR. id bet you can get one all the way up to Oct. BUT thats just me guessing.

if you can't find them where you are at......fly to missouri.....they can't seem to sell them so quick....they made me a killer deal on mine that sat on the lot for like 4 months then they ordered in like 3 regular evos and then 2 mrs at the same time. they don't think out here they just order.

A lot of it depends on location... I got my '04 RS almost exactly one year ago, late April of 2005. You may ask "what the hell is an '04 Evo doing on the lot 4 months into 2005??" and the answer is just the fact that this dealership in Redmond (aka middle of nowhere), Oregon, was unable to sell it. There aren't many Evo buyers around that area, and the dealership was losing money on the car fast, so I got a screaming deal on it.
