New to Evos
Hi guys,
I started out with a Civic turbo (loved the car) then i got an RX-7 Type R Bathurst(amazing machine), then i got a 350z and put lots of mods on it like the APS twin turbos, 20" wheels, espirit body kit and lots of other stuff was one of the fastest cars I had ever sat in.
Now I am getting an Evo 8 from Japan. It is on its way and will be here hopefully in another 15 days. I want to know what i should expect from the car. It is used so what maintanence parts shall i have in stock and if i want to bump up the power just a little bit how musch boost should i run? I am looking at around 320 whp.
Also any words of advise....
Thanks

Start by searching and reading through the tons and tons and TONS of information regarding maintenance and power improvements.
Once you've done that, then ask some specific questions, and we will be glad to help you. The amount of boost you should run isn't a good question by itself out of context. That depends on many factors and is not something you should worry about right now. 320whp is very easy to do and takes about $2000 in mods to accomplish.

Guys I am in Karachi, Pakistan and am getting a 2003 evo 8 JDM... its not an MR though... My first all wheel drive and am very scared of the clutch issues...
I am thinking of taking it to work everyday and the roads there are being constructed and the alternate route is not what i would call an ideal terrain for a sports car still i am taking the chance and hoping things would turn out fine... It is just a matter of 2-3 months max... what should i expect from the Evo ride quality wise... I mean there are a lot of bumps in the alternate route and a section with a lot of gravel.. Come to think of it maybe I would be making the most appropriate use of the Evo considering it was intended to perform on and off road... I'll give it a little of both the worlds.....
Please tell me the ride won't break my legs..
thanks

what octane gas do you have at the pumps out there? if you can get 100 like in japan 320 shouldn't even be a challenge considering most US guys run more power than that with 91 and 93 on bolt-on parts.
lots of gravel...your evo will feel right at home. The amount of boost all depends on your supporting mods. just spend your time reading and searching, everything you could ever want to know is somewhere on these boards. Welcome to EVOM!
