Because Mitsu dealers overall have been known to sidestep, blame others, and if all else fails, void your warranty for non-stock parts or abuse.

Good luck, both the dealership and Mitsubishi will try to deny your claim at all cost to save themselves a buck.

You are screwed IMO. Unless you have an honest dealer that admits fault, you are on your own.

yes, its illegal to not disclose known problems with a car, just like a house

they also may not know that a whining sound means the xfer case is going bad

I am glad you posted this. I will make sure to watch the dealership when they change any fluids on my car. Matter of fact, I may just do it myself that way I know its done right. I don't know if the warranty will cover the parts if I do the service though. Anyone know the answer to that?

You have no idea what you are talking about... Yeah, Mitsu carefully selected the formula diaqueen because is it garbage . The two largest and most respected trans and transfercase rebuilders in the USA, Shepracing and TeamRip must never recommend Diaqueen .

Yeah and you don't have to disclose issues with properties either I suppose?

Sounds like the parts window gave you the new GL4 stuff that comes in a 55 gallon drum. The Diaqueen GL5 fluid comes in a can. The GL5 fluid goes into the transfer case and the rear differential while the GL4 stuff goes in the transmission. Sorry to have to break that news to you. I work at a dealership and I see that happen some times at the parts window. And as disgusted as I am, I realize that they don't hire the brightest bulbs in the parts departments. For future reference make sure you state EXACTLY what you need and if the parts counter guy gives you a frown, demand to speak to the parts department manager and if he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, get out of there FAST.
