If you buy a good MBC like a Hallman or a Forge and install it properly you wont have a problem. Try a search there is a ton of info on the subject.

There is still taper thanks to MIVEC. I am hitting 22psi and settling down to 18psi with the Forge UNOS.

I got my MBC from buschur, holds boost solid at 22psi with only about 1psi of taper the few times when it does move.

My HKS EVC 4 holds boost solid on my gauge. It's set to 20.5 psi. Map sensor reads 20.5-21 psi and tapers down to about 18 psi.

Thats got to be the best of any IX holding boost. I'm certain if boost was read by the map sensor, it would show more taper than that.

RNM, he isn't really only dropping 1psi. People say that all the time, but it's not really true. If you put a MAP sensor on their car and measure the actual boost, you'll ses a linear reduction in boost from peak to 7k rpm, and that reduction will be more than 1psi.
