Ok, this is an odd one. When driving slowly and slowly turning the wheel, I've noticed the most subtle click in the steering wheel when turning it hard over and then back again. A typical situation would be driving through a parking lot. The sensation is very similar to when your turn signal clicks off. It happens going in both directions. It's a more subtle click when the wheel is almost hard over and a more noticable click as the wheel straightens back out. You can feel it more than hear it, with the radio off of course. I can't say if it's been happening since I got it but I only noticed it in the last week (I've had the car for 3 weeks) and it's just annoying enough to bug me. But before I have the dealer check it out and give me the usual "Unable to recreate condition", I thought I'd check with the Evo brethren to see if anyone else noticed this.

 

that happens in my OZ as well. check the steering column. i broke my steering colum before and it gave me those types of noises. im not sayin its broken, it may be loose. take it to mitsu.
