My Probs With IX
man all these problems with the IX. Not making me very excited. I think a bunch of little stupid problems are more aggrivating then one big problem.
Cant say i would touch a thing on a car that has less then 1000 miles on the OD. It would go right back to the dealer without a question.

Sometimes its a case of the more you look, the more you find
this is as told to me by the owner of PFmodify here in the boston area, he mentioned it while he was swapping my clutch cause i apparently scraped some off with a jackstand. he had some extra "goop" in the shop and reapplied
how come some have more tarry substance than others.
Probably my over thinking but I always wonder what happens with old evo 7,8 if not sold or returned for damage or lemons.
Do they take them back change what needs to be change and repackage them put some tarry gummy stuff to cover anything up and sell as 9's. Just curious
ala circuit city when you take a bad dvd player and it gets resold as refurbished
ps. anyone have any thoughts on the door issue??????

yeah mine is making a weird noise when I go about 40 mph. Sounds like a bearing in the speedo is squeaking.
I am also having problems getting it into 1st and reverse sometimes.

I have a IX MR and dont have any weird noises. My trunk closes fine. But shifting into second gear feels rough. It doesnt matter if its up or downshifting. Feels like not enough sencros or bad clutch engaugement.
ok, everyone can believe me or not, but I had a dash rattle also when I first got my IX. It sounded like it was coming from the steering wheel or dash, anyway the noise has gone away now for some odd reason?!
I swear I cant hear anything anymore...

Sorry to hear about your problems with the door and the trunk, i'd take it to the dealer and have them fix most of it. Sounds like the latches need to be adjusted a little, no big deal. As far as the gears, mine were stiff when i first got it, but has been easier every time i drive it.
Dealer will fix you up, good luck
I have an annoying noise in a relatively new IX as well. It is a metallic click that might be coming from the dash, or sometimes it sounds like under the drivers seat. Only happens once in a while when going over moderate but not sharp bumps. I can't locate it.
Let us know if the dealer finds the rattle and where it was. I've never had much luck with mechanics finding and solving odd rattles though.

I have an EVO IX which has a trunk which is difficult to close as well. I figured it was because the wing weighs less than the EVO 8's. It's no big deal to me. I just got my first oil change yesterday w/ 1700 miles on it. I put on 1700 miles in 10 days. I love the 9!
