The 42r is quite impressive on the street.

The sound of the car is not going to make it drive or go fast. You are going to spend a lot of money on this project and the last thing I would be thinking about is the sound of the car...

This goal can’t be achieved because race cars are not street legal for a reason.

 

I dont think my dad was refering to the sound = performance. he just liked the way it sounded.

It was just a choice of which one we wanted. The sound was a bonus with the 42r.

 

totally my dad only calls me on holidays, and when he needs me to move heavy stuff.

Thanks Dan and Chris! It was nice talking to both of you. I think you helped us make up our mind and gave us more insite into what it was like to live with and drive a high HP car on a daily basis. I think what sealed it for me was losing the AC with the 42r along with the ground clearance of the 4 inch exhaust. Although I think I could have lived with that. Just would have to be careful.

After talking to you Chris, you almost had me convinced to go with the 42r! If only I could have the AC and 42r both ( got Allergies ) I would have gone with that set up. Great guy, lots of fun to talk to. Can't wait to see some new vids from you.

Yes your right. If you don't beat on it all the time and pick your spots to let it loose it will last longer. I think what we were refering to was if you are racing a lot at the track.

 

Hey Dan if your still online I have one more question. I was looking at your track vid inside the car and are you flat foot shifting? It sounds like you are at least after 1st to 2and. Like I said driving American muscle cars for a long time I'm used to it but I haven't felt comfortable about doing it in the Evo. Don't want to break anything.

Yes I got it when they showed ten of them on the table and Eric said they were going fast. I was lucky.

Are you trying to get one? Is AMS out of them now?

flat foot shifting in an evo(no matter how good you are) + clutch = poopoo!!

eventually you will break something, it's only a matter of time!!! clutch's, tc's and tranny's are just not made to do that.....

 

I agree and I normally do not flat foot shift unless I absolutely need to (which is almost never)
