I have about $23,000 still to pay off, man I really want to do this but I don't know if it's worth it. For many of you who have traded in their 05 VIII for a IX MR, is it worth it? I got the 0% interest rate for 60 months and I don't think it's going to apply for the IX MR. I have always wanted an MR and I have read so much about how crazy the IXs and MRs are with simple mods.

Now, if I don't this my future plan will be to upgrade my stock turbo to a GT35R and go on from there. What are your thoughts?
If you got a 6% financing deal for 60 months on the new car (6% is a good rate right now), you would pay an extra $13,500 over the next 5 years to get the MR.

I don't think it is worth $13.5k to move from an '05 VIII to an '06 IX, especially if your plans are to swap the turbo, I imagine you have aftermarket wheels already so you are basically paying $13.5k for Mivec, aluminum pedals, aluminum roof, a CF look dash panel and different seats, a vortex generator, a 6-speed, a different front bumper and HIDs.

On a side note, I work for an insurance agency and one of our clients several months ago, came in and bought insurance for his brand new IX MR. I asked him how much he paid and he said around 47k. I played it cool and did'nt say anything, but HOLY HELL! Does'nt seem like he even bothered to talk the dealership down.
you should've taken the initiative to report this rape case to the proper authorities...

You owed $30k for the Porsche and they only gave you $19?

What kind of F'ed up deal did you make to get hosed like that? What kind of Porsche was it and how bad was it messed up? Did you break an engine stud or something? I can't imagine taking a deal like that.

He's looking at an MR, so I don't think what you paid applies. I wish I was offered 26K for my 05 MR. 24000 was my highest trade in. If legit, you sir have a good deal on your hands. I want 28k for mine and 33.5 for an 06 MR. Too aggressive I'm sure, but what do I care I already have an Evo.

I bought my 06 IX MR for 37 plus tax and all that came to 42K out the door...They did only make 1500 units of the 06 MR, so I think it's worth the xtra over the regular IX for 35K...My payments are like 650/month for 7 years....I also have an 05 xterra that I pay 565 for to pull my boat. Sounds like I love car payments huh? At least I paid cash for my boat, that would have been another 40K to borrow. I Love the looks other evo drivers give me when they see my MR pull up...You gota have a 6 speed in the year 2006....most other cars have them now....That power band is always there with that 6 speed.

I thought the first 4 gear ratios were pretty similar between the 5spd and the 6spd.

Like the guy said earlier in this thread, the difference between the two is night and day, in looks and performance.

5-Speed: 1st - 40, 2nd - 60, 3rd - 83, 4th - 113, 5th - 162

6-Speed: 1st - 40, 2nd - 59, 3rd - 80, 4th - 105, 5th - 133, 6th - 166

I was wrong, It's 1st through 3rd that are pretty much the same. Not really a night and day difference. Until you hit 4th, but then with the 6spd you will probably have to shift to 5th more often than you would in the 5sp.

6mt does shift nicer though, I have driven both.

That takes the cake for the craziest Evo loan I have heard on here. Can anyone else "beat" that?
