difficult going from 4th to 5th gear

My friend is having problems going from 4th to 5th gear. He said it gets stuck sometimes and has to bang it a few times before it goes in. The car is on stock clutch and turbo. any idea what the problem is?

It's the synchros. Mines was replaced under warranty. I had 27000 miles at that point. They eventually replaced all the synchros eventhough the was on 4th and 5th.
