VIII vs IX, IX vs VIII ,MR vs VIII, i like um all and every model thats the whole point of buying an evo anyway. They all can be fast cars, every time i go out and cruise, people are hoping to get a chance to beat any evo they can,if you win against an evo lots of people consider that a big victory,if they can win, evos will always terrorize the crowd.

Maybe so, but that doesn't mean that people can't be perfectly happy with their 05s. Or 03s or 04s for that matter. Not everything is about being THE fastest, some people are happy with being fast and having a really good looking car.

Evo IX vs Evo VIII = IX > VIII but IX = and VIII =

I say buy an already modified VIII and slap on a larger turbo.

Because it's used, sure. If you want to argue semantics, it's still cheaper because IX's are faster modded vs. the VIII. Less money on mods.

I know I am happy with my 8....... I don't plan on racing a 9 unless I'm at the track and trust me, I am sure there will be plenty other cars there that aren't EVOS and are fast! Honestly, I think it boils down to who has deeper pockets. I mean an evo 9 will cost, unless you have it like that cash wise. A decently used Evo 8 sells for 23k around Maryland in which appeals to me since I dislike having big car notes for 5 yrs or more.......either way they both are badass cars!

PS.... I'm cool with not being the fastest.

I LOVED MY EVO 8!!! I will never trade my 8 for a 9 like some of you fools
Mods the **** out of an 8 then trade it in for a 9

50 to 60 years from today people are going to remember the 1st Evolution from Mitsubishi......03 evo8 with hid with sunroof with blue seats (not that black crap) without ACD with out v-timing....yes the 1st evo to the USA just like the T-bird or the 1st Mustang or the 1st M1 BMW or 914

PS: so some of you 9 is alil faster then me....big deal I LOVED MY EVO 8!!!

I was just happy getting an Evolution period. Remember that time when wrx's ran through our US streets rampant w/o its true rival in sight? I would've taken any evo (1-7)v. the ****ty mirages and lancers they had over here...I'd still take a VI over any evos out now...be happy w/ what you got - spoiled americans

That's ridiculous. There are nice 03-04s with SSL and 10k miles on them for $22-23k. Similiar 05s aren't that much more. A comparable IX will set you back around $33k plus another $2k in tax. I guarentee I can make the VIII faster for less money and still have money left over for nice rims, coilovers, an extended warranty, and a valentine one (with money to spare).

Don't tell me that cost doesn't play a role in most people's decision when buying. I can tell you that if money were no object, I wouldn't be driving an EVO.

all you have to do is add a 250 dollar hotside to nearly level the playing field between a 03/04 and a 05.
