Walbro and test pipe=black $hiT on bumper

Will the test pipe and richer fuel cause me to get that black residue near my exhaust?
thanks

Its just ONE joy of owning a turbo car...mostly an EVO in particular Look at the bright side, its ALOT better than white smoke.

My bumper has actually melted around the exhaust outlet, there are little ripples in the plastic around the edge.

I do not have this problem at all and I run a test pipe and pump. Why? because I got an exhaust that has a tip that extends beyond the bumper by 1.5 inches. Also the tip is the same diameter as stock. I have no soot and no melted bumper.

I would think you would be running richer with the walbro since it is sending more fuel than factory.

even if the pump is rated at a higher lph it shouldn't send more than what is needed. the computer should still control how much fuel to deliver.
