Upper Intercooler Piping.

Is upper intercooler piping a good mod? Do you get reasonable gains from it?

I would like to know this also. I have the Warrtalon Package and HP Freaks LICP and I'm thinking of my next mods. I was thinking of the Buschur intake and upper intercooler piping that would work with the stock battery. Not sure if that's the way to go on a IX or not.

The fact that you have a IX vs. an VIII is irrelavent to having an UICP. It will flow better than the stocker therefor probably make a couple more ponies but nothing youll feel.

You money is better spent on other items, It will look pretty under the hood, but thats about it. The UICP is designed pretty well, other than the flexible connections.

You won't get a huge gain, but everything counts. Most good upper i/c pipe require the mini battery, however I had the buschur racing upper i/c pipe with greddy bov, I wasn't very happy with it, which is why I switched over to the AMS, with the Tial bov!

You would know from search that the UICP doesn't give gains, but the LICP gives some gains along with increased spool, but you continually refuse to search before posting new threads.

Uncle Boo, your next route would be ported/coated stock manifold, ported/coated stock 10.5 hotside, and coated SS o2 housing. When some more cam alternatives come out, then that will be a great mod, but for now the only choice is TurboTrix for $900. Then, it will be time for alky, which will give you a huge boost...

Thanks for the information.

Are these three mods something I should do all at once or one part at a time? Can you buy the ported parts then send back your originals for an exchange or do you have to send your parts in first, which would mean downtime.

Should I also install a fuel pump with these mods? And I would guess I need another Dynoflash after installing these parts?

Finally, what are the benefits of the ported/coated parts?

I would do the manifold-o2 housing and hot side at the sametime.

Yes, do all 3 at once, because they are all in the same place and are a pain to take apart/re-install 3 times. Do it all at once as one unit. No, you don't buy them, then send yours - they used to do that, but too many people never sent their parts afterwards, so Buschur stopped doing that. You have to send in some core units, then they either send you back some pre-ported/pre-coated replacements, or you wait for yours to get done and sent back. What I did was buy a spare set for $250 (hotside, mani, o2), then sent them in without touching my car. They got the parts, sent back the replacements, I received them, installed them, then sold my original stock parts for $300.

Yes, go ahead and get a fuel pump when you do all this, then get a reflash after it's all said and done. The benefit of the porting is more exhaust flow = more power. The benefit of the coating is it keeps all the exhaust heat inside which increases the exhaust flow speed/efficiency while also keeping underhood temps down. Additionally, the coating looks nicer than the rusted stock look, and they will never rust after being coated.
