Today my tranny came from UPS my tcase was supposed to come from Fedex but with the insurance being high it needed a sig no matter what and I was not home so I can;t even get it. It is at a self service station so have to wait till monday....

Unfortunately even though I woulda been pushed back a week since the shop I would work at closes at 6 and we don't wanna work till 2-3 am to do it... That is not the bad part...

I opened the tranny box when I got home... and found that the little gray foam things used weren't packed well nor the box itself. It appears UPS dropped it...Multiple times... See pics below..

I am not blaming Shepard at all, I sent him an email and called and hopefully we can get this resolved... My car has been out of commision for a little over two months now though and I have a feeling with this claim and what not I will be carless for the summer...

I got the email back from Shep he is having UPS pick it up but he said save the packaging to put it back in... so umm somehow it will get back to shep in a torn up, and wet box because of the weather, as it downpoured right when I was taking the pics. He said I have to have the ox or else it would ruin the claim.

Wow Nesiop. it looks like they were trying to steal something from you, gave up, and gave you back the result.

bummer of a lifetime. make them pay for a 100% new shep tranny for you.

I hope so... I honestly have stomach pains thinking of what will happen...

I don't feel like being out of my Evo all friggin summer...

And I have this feeling UPS will not pick it up because as you can see in the pics the box was destroyed, and as I was taking pics it is all wet now and weakened more. But I was told I HAD to send the box back or they would send Shep a letter denying the claim.

So I taped it all up but I mean honestly I dunno wtf he expects is going to happen. It will probably fall apart and get even more damaged. But I am waiting for him to call me now and let me know UPS is coming.

Either way though whether they deny the claim or not I am going to get a new tranny with the same work done one way or another and I am not paying....

Definately... I am truly hoping, since nothing on this was in my hands he will be willing to get a new trans, do the work and send it back while the claim is going through. Because I need the tranny asap, and would assume I should get one no matter what.

Okay quick question for someone who can help me out here.

I drive a 03' Evo 8, and as we all know I am starting to hear the dreaded tranny "whine" while in Low RPMS or giving it little throttle (5-15%).

If I send out my tranny to Shep to get it rebuilt, would this eliminate the problem?

Thanks for any help.

Interesting thread to put this in... But usually it is the TCase whining but yes he should be able to fix it for you.

Got an email back:

A claim has been entered. They will be in contact before tomorrow evening
to inspect. I cannot simply send you a new trans, The 6 spd trans is @
$4500 itself. You will have to wait for me to get the trans and replace the
bellhousing or have the ear welded back on locally if you are in a big
hurry.

Thanks
John Shepherd

Obviously I sent one back saying I would want the bellhousing replaced not the weld.

Dude...why don't you just put the box in one of those big walmart plastic tubs so it preserves the "nastyness" of that box....i'm just sayin
