Yea I made a mistake last night.

I went to the local spot to look for some action. I have a AEM some i got some 100 oct put it in i only put 2.5 gal. i thought it wasn't going to be a big deal. I was wrong car is tuned for pump gas only man im stupid. So i get to the spot fine after a few hours of wheeling and dealing i get a STI to come out to play. The STI had alot and i mean alot of APS goods on it oh yea he did have the b/b turbo setup to i was like yes im going to kill this guy. Ok we talked most the night and wanted to get something to eat before going for some runs. On the way to get food my car start to jerk and jerk again at 3500rpm and i couldn't pass that rpm i was like wtf. So i stoped to check to see if anything came off nothing. And goes to find out it was the gas so i have to drive around till that gas runs out to reset the ecu and put pump back in man im dumb ill never do that again.

Leason to be leard here

If you have a stand along tuned for pump dont use race gas unless you have another map for the higher oct. or get it retuned. Its not worth blowing your motor over something so simple and easy to forget.

Safe driveing

why would that give you a problem?? u were not running any race gas maps so by

saying u only put 2.5 gallons doesnt mean anything. octane rating is nothing but an

anti-knock rating(simply). so unless u just had bad race gas to begin with or turn the

boost way up without proper tuned map, i dont see why it would cause you any

problems.

When I was bone stock, I put two octane boosters into a tank of 93 octane and went to the drag strip at Speed World. I ran 13.7 - 13.8 all night in an Evo 9. Do you think the gas was too high of an octane and was messing the ECU up?

This post makes no sense.

Going up in octane will not hurt your car and should not cause the issue you are describing. Unless it was bad gas which has no bearing on if it was race gas or pump gas.

I'm sure you were on your way to the drag strip to race as well. Since street racing is against the rules to talk about on this forum.

I was used to RWD, I had never been to the track, nor tried launching. I'm usually not hard on my car off the line unless at the track. Here's my slip. Again, bone stock, Evo 9. I was WOT shifting, also.

An evolved member should know our rules concerning street racing. If you want to discuss your car's jerking and the effects of race gas then please re-post in the tech forum and leave out the street racing. Closed.
