Problem with vendor 500whp

I have an issue with a particular vendor and haven't posted until I had a mod's permission. About 3 weeks ago I participated the in the vendors Snow Performance group buy. Pictures in the post had the kit installed on an OEM fluid resevoir, which is how I assumed it would come, like SMC's. Later I found out that was a custom installation. So I ordered and upon receiving the kit saw that itwasn't any type of evo specific kit and wasn't installed on an OEM resevoir. I took it to Pruven Performance to get their input and how much the install price would be. I came to the conclusion that its not like the SMC which is what I was expecting and I wanted to return it. Snow Performance had no problem taking back the kit and they did. Had I paid them they would've refunded me the money. Back to 500whp. I emailed Jeff, 500whp, and told him that I checked out the kit and it wasn't as what I expected it to be and that the extra cost installation was too much. This was only 2 days after I had it. I sent 2 other emails afterward. None were replied to. I finally reached him on AOL AIM. He was short with me and unreasonable. He said just because it wasn't what I wanted or expected he didn't feel that was reason enough to issue me a fefund. I have since returned the kit to Snow Performance and have contacted my credit card company to dispute the chargeand have a charge back done. I wanted others to know about this situation but didn't want to post without permission. I know others might have had no problems with him but to me this situation is unreasonable. I have no kit now and are awaiting the charge back situation. Flame away.

Sounds to me like 500whp was the middleman, vendor. Snow was the manufacturer.

IMO if you were led to believe you were getting something else than that is cause for a return or refund. Plus IMO any reputable vendor does accept returns/refunds as long as you didnt use or damage the product. As long as we consumers return the prooducts in resalable form you should have no issue. Most reputable stores(selling anything) will take back their product they sold no matter what as long as they can still sell that product after you returned it. I think that is totally irresbonsible of this vendor, but I can't be biased b/c I haven't had personal contact with them. It's always a gamble dealing with companies over the net until you hear a lot of good feedback. I would let your CC company sort it out, good luck

The kit was not installed just inspected. 2 days after I received it I emailed 500whp requesting to return it. 500whp was doing the group buy. I returned it to Snow because its their product and its what the cc company told me to do.

Agree with Bill, the kit came in a total different way that it was pictured as being. We've talked about the on-going situation about the problems he's encountered. It should have been as simple as taking back the product and refunding the money but that's not how the situation had to be resolved. That was not very professional on the vendors part.

I'm not going to get into full detail, but I also had a problem with 500whp.com, when I ordered my cams, they said they shipped out, few weeks later, I called, and they told me they are on back order... wtf, why lie?

This became a big problem, because I was heading down to turbotrix for a tune that week, but I had to cancel because I didn't receive the cams, so anyways I won't be doing any more business with them.

defoe69: The wholething with the Refund was that you didn't want to spend the time or money to install the kit. I talked to Snow Performance Today and you did return the kit back to them, and we refunded you the money early today.

BMS: I'm not sure when you purchase the Cams, but some times they do tend to be out of stock for weeks, and we do try our best to ship out items once they are in stock, Sorry for the wait hope the cams you ordered worked out great for you.

westchester evo: I believe you waited for 2 weeks for your EVC. Once again im sorry that we didn't have the item in stock, and should of called you the same day and not 2-3 days later, hows the car boosting?

App420: Group Buys usually takes a long time, im very sorry for the long wait. Now since the group buy ended hit me up ill make it up to you for the wait =)

stikillller: What do you think should be changed on the site?
