I have been looking for the same thing. All I found was this, and it's driving me nuts.

u don't have to use the speed sensor wire. if ur not sure use the ebrake wire. I didn't want to take a chance if something happened cuz it voids ur warranty by hooking up to the ecu.

the speed sonsor wire (purple) is a safety check for the timer. so if the car starts rollin when the timer is counting down, it will kill the car. same with e ebrake wire. when the ebrake is put down when the timer is counting down it will kill the car. thats all they do. you can still run the timer with out those hooked up.

I think the Greddy TT has a Mode where you can monitor the speed of your vehicle. Just like my old HKS one where it monitored Speed, RPMs, 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc...But I haven't used a Greddy before.

it does. i have one on my evo. but it really doesnt work. it will read about 15 k/m faster than what im doin and it told me that i can do a 1/4 mile run in 8 seconds. all i had done to my evo when i tested it was an intake. i just have it hooked up so when my car rolls when its countin down it will kill it. but man i get all kinds of crazy looks when i walk away from my car and its still runnin.

It deff does. I haven't seen the HKS one yet, but I've seen Greddy and Apexi. I know the Greddy one is a little big, but it is my favorite so far. I like the ease of use. Very user friendly and displays hings very nicely. Works 100% the eay I want... not that turbo timers are hard to opperate, but you get the point.

Greddy does do speed, RPM, 1/4, etc..

Yes you can hook it up. When I had my HKS, you had to set the speed. Drive at 30mph, then press a button to acknowledge the that you are going 30 mph. After that my MPH read fine and exactly like the Speedometers says. Also my 1/4 mile times from the TT were pretty close to track times. about .1 to .3 off.

The thing I didn't like about that ECU Pin Out for the IX is that there were a few wires on my ECU harness that wasn't on the Pin Out, and vice versa...I had to guess on a couple wires.

Well HKS has 2 types, Type 0 and Type 1. I had the Type 1 in my VIII which is about the same size as the Greddy. By what you are stating about the Greddy, I think the HKS Type 1 and the Greddy have about the same functions. I am running the Apexi right now in my IX.

the purple one is only for speed functions. brown for ebrake to shut down if removed and purple if u want the car to shut off early if it becomes in motion. all it is ... is a safety feature along with the ebrake feature. the measurement of how long the car should run afterwords is measured by the voltage and rpms of the alternator. It states this in the directions.
