Got Jerked My Pruven

About 2 months ago i had a tranny problem wirth makin noises in my car and i sent it in to PRUVEN to have it fixed. they told me it would take about a 4 days to ffind out wats wrong with it and fix i and i was like kool thats pretty fast so a week goes by they tell me they havent started on my car yet so im like ook.. im on vacation anyways its ok. so when they finally look at it they say they dont know wats wrong it itso they just start replaconmg parts of the tranny. im thinkin Oh boi there gonna charge me for EVERYTHING. so they test drive it again and it still has the same problem. Here i am getting real anxious and they tell me there gonna open up my tranny again and look though it again. 2 weeks laters they tell me i have differental problem and wat they did was basically change the whole tranny. They were liike yea.. we change them too cus they were worn out. i was like i jus wanted the problem fixed not rebuild the whole tranny.so the guy was like like tell me wat you want me to do, ill take everything out again.. ARGH i was like 4 get it as long as its fixed i dont care b/c idont know much about trannis and i dont want them to mess up my car more.all in all they charged me 2200 and i paid 2000 in cash. Waht got me annoyed was that he said we didnt charge for opening up the tranny the 2nd time. its not my fault they couldnt figure out the problem. so when i got my car of course i was happy. so a couple of days later i still hear a lil whine but thats ok its a AWD drive i should expected those. BUT when i got my car from them i was missing the plastic guard unfer the intercooler, they forgot to put it back on and he tells me most people dont put it back on cus it gets in the way... they also didnt put back on the wheellocks, WHICH they stripeed b/c they didnt used the wheellock key, all they had to do was call me or lookin the freakin trunk. THey been messing with my stereo face b/c iended up with a new backround and now all of a sudden my stereo remote doesnt work. WHAT pisses me of the most is that i have a compustar alarm which cost me 500 to put have it and when they gave me my keys back its missing an atenna cover. So i tell em and he says they can get that piece for me and im like thats fine. SO ITS BEEN ALMOST 2 MONTHS AND I STILL DONT HAVE MY GUARD OR ME ANTENNA COVER AND THERE NOT PICKIN UP MY PHONE CALLS

THANK YOU PRUVEN FOR JERKING ME BIG TIME....

You should have used a tranny shop or had them send it to TRE.. SHEP etc..

How many times have you called or tried to follow up with them? This is the first bad thing I've heard about them.

doesn't sound that bad to me. I'd be a bit ticked off about the wheel locks being stripped though.

Your stereo probably has a new background because the battery was disconnected.

1. Nothing pisses off a mechanic more than going to take off a wheel and finding a damn lock. You should have left the key/socket on the seat where it is clearly visiable and made sure to tell them.

2. They most likely disconnected the battery to the car for an extended period of time which caused all your radio presets and face to change. I am sure who ever was working on the car was not impressed by the radio and decided to change settings.

3. You asked them to fix it and they did... 2000 is not a bad price for a tranny rebuild.

How many threads does this require?

We charge extra when people leave the underplastics on. It adds at least 30 minutes to remove and 30 minutes to replace, more or less.

This sounds about right... I have had a few issues with Pruven... For one you should not go with a place that does not specialize in rebuilding trannies. It would have been cheaper and better to have sent it off to Shep racing. But they do have a tendency to charge for things not asked, and will not take responsibilities for things. I love the we didn't charge for the second time when it was there fault.

Mine was "Remember we didn't charge for your tune the second time" which was because they messed it up, and it was so bad as Kenny had to leave for a wedding so the tune was all whacked. He must have forgot what he set up cause when I came back he had the nerve to call Dan and say dude this isn't my tune, he messed with the tune, and oh this isn't the same turbo in the car.

When I first went there I had no problems and everyone seemed really cool, and customer support was good except when I showed up with an Ultimate Racing turbo kit they bad mouthed it so bad that it sounded like if they tuned it my car was gonna blow up so they talked me into buying Al's HKS 3037s turbo to pick up labor prices and such. In the end another comment was "We didn't charge you for the tow back here to fix the IC pipe that blew" "We weren't responsible because it wasn't our kit we just installed a kit supplied to us."

I'd love to hear about your problem that you experienced with Pruven, but your post is completely unreadable.

Complete sentences? Punctuation? Paragraphs? Spelling? Wow.

Have the mods close your other thread, but from there:

The final thing was responsibility with their tools. I had my injectors put in there because I didn't want to flood my car driving 200 miles or so with 1kcc injectors. So they were using a almost foot long metal hook on one end straight spike on the other end tool. When we went on the test drive I come back and see it almost come flying up the window, and I ask why they left it there and they said it wasn't theres and they had no idea what it was.

Guys, english might not be this persons first language, so how about keeping the responses on topic .

Sounds like they could have called you about the wheel nuts and they should have put the undertray on, especially if you drive your car in the north east in winter.

You prolly did okay if the tranny problem is fixed, but like said above, a specialist tranny shop would have been better.
