SOOOOO yea, a friend of mine used to own a celica (all riced), I gave him a ride and the next weekend he bought an MR .... he tells me today his first set of mods, and wow. intake, BOV, cat-back, cf hood, and a tv system. Im contemplating letting him getting everything first before i tell him that he just wasted all his money, other wise he will just think i am talking ****, and he wont join the boards to learn for himself. all I have to say is... I hate it when people buy a car and start modding it, with no concept of what actually works and is useful. Sorry for the vent lol

 

I say it's his car and he can do whatever he wants to do with it. If he doesn't want to seek advice then thats his problem. He doesn't have to become a member to use the search button.

 

i know its his car... but getting an intake, bov, and a cat-back without a tune, might even end up HURTING his performance if it changes anything at all...

 

as long as he doesn't post in here and complain that despite his mods, they are denying him warranty.

 

That kind of thing bugs me too, even if it's none of my business. I feel your pain.

 

Well it looks like you have two options...

1) Don't say anything and watch him buy all this crap - then hear about how his Evo is having problems for the rest of your life

2) Inform him about the site and what might happen if he continues along the avenue he's pursuing. This way - if he tries to complain in the future, you can just tell him you don't want to hear it

 

i have told him... but he just thinks im hating lol. whatever. he'll see and i will tell him i told you so.

 

Bring him to your computer and we'll flame him for a while. Just for you, don't forums rock.
