since he was a jerk to you when you called. you should call back and tell him you're going to be running diagnostics on the car and that he better pray to god you don't find anything not stock on the car or there will be a huge legal battle.
just to scare him for being an ***

if he sold it through a dealership it's not his problem.
Buyer beware.
I would have never held him accountable for anything anyways. Never was my intention. The dealer on the other hand, sold me a "under warranty" Evo with cams in it. That is their fault. It just would of been nice for the owner to say: "Yes, you have these cams, and this tune, and this clutch, and a fuel pump." That would have been awesome news. But now I'm left wondering , looking, and paying to figure all this s**t out. I think the dealer may have re-flashed my car when I first got it. One screw to the ecu was missing. Would this cause his flash/tune to go away?

It sucks that the previous owner wasn't much help. That is part of the reason I never trade in. I like to tell the next owner what I've done and what maintenance is coming up. That and you lose your a*s trading in.
Do you have any friends with a scan tool that will log or a dyno near by? You can probably watch your AFR's or timing and tell if it reflashed or not. With vacuum that low I would say it's a safe bet to assume you have cams. Pop the timing cover off and look at the bolts that hold the gears to the cams. You'll be able to tell if they've been removed and reinstalled.
Worst case have an EvoM member (that knows their sh*t) that lives close to you stop by and take a look at it or take it to Dyno4mance and let Andrew go through it.

That's why I am trying hard to find out everything my car has been through. For my advantage now, and for the next owner in the future.
Since we live in such a sue-happy country, I'm sure he was probably worried about answering questions that might in anyway implacate him in anything that might be wrong with the car.
I tried to contact the original owner my 03 and he answered me once and never again replied.
