Stock Turbo

What can be done about porting the stock turbo, I mean will it have any preformance gains with the stock block and bolt on's with a good tune?
I'm about to put my bigger o2 housing on and when I take the turbo off of the car I was thinking of having it ported out or something to maybe make it smoother. maybe port out the turbine housing or something.
But if it's not going to give me anything then hell.

I asked my friends at a local shop and they explained ther would be vitually no improvment or so slight that it would never be worth the time or money to do it. I think the only thing might be coating the hotside to improve under bonnet temps but even that I don't think would be worth it

i recall the same thing, i also asked my mechanic who does my big mods to the evo, that question and he said its not worth it. same as the ported 02 housing no gains what so ever. i even recall buschur himself stating that in a thread about some evo he had running sick.

Evo Bill, it is a good idea to get your stock manifold and stock turbine housing ported and coated (Buschur can do it) when adding the o2 housing. Please go do a bunch of searching on this topic, because there have been many conversations and dyno testing on this. You can find all the info you want in other threads. I personally have done a full write-up of the these parts - go look for my thread for a little info.
