engine knocking at idle??

i don't know if its knock or not.. i recently installed the invidia o2 housing and thought it was exhaust leak so i took everything out and tightened it down.. i checked the noise and its not coming from the exhaust manifold or o2 housing.. it sounded like it came from inside the engine... im not sure if its knock or not.. can someone help me verify this? or how i know? btw..my car isn't tuned

grab a lonnnnggggg screwdriver and put it on the block when the engine is running and put ur earto the handle and u can listen t where the knock is coming from. touch it to the valve cover in different areas and where its the loudest is where its coming from. or the expensive way is to get an automotive stethoscope but I always used the srcewdriver method.

most likely the throwout bearing.... a few weeks back I thought I had a engine knock but noticed when I push the clutch in it goes away. I came on here and did some research and found that alot of people have this problem and seems normal.

there wont be enough load on the motor to detonate at idle, if anything it will just misfire..

resetted isnt a word, and you didnt fix the problem.

You probably let the car cool down, RESET the ecu and then assumed the problem is fixed, because the REAL problem (bad throw out bearing) was hidden because the bearing was cool.

thanks.. i gave u a pm kf6ytc.. the cel light was on and i had it read.. the o2 sensor in the o2 housing wasnt getting any signals.. the wires were cutted, extended and soldered in order to fit the invidia o2 housing and i guess the two black wires got missed up.. i cutted them and switch them around and soldered it.. light went off and o2 sensor worked again .. no knocking noise either...

but for some reason. i idle really low now around 700-800rpm
