First gear bog... whats going on?

I took off from a light fairly easily tonight in first, but once I determined that I had the clutch all the way out, I floored it. For about 2 seconds, the revs didn't climb at all, it felt a lot like this thing I had with my old Camry; I would be giving it power, but the engine would not react. Eventually the car did take off, but for about 2 seconds I was left thinking "wtf is going on?" It wasn't turbo lag, thats for sure.
Any ideas?

That sounds like turbo lag. When I do rolls on from first gear, it's got to be rolling atleast 20 mph so there's not much lag.

Hm, it was bogging so bad, I didn't think it was lag. I must've been rolling about 10mph before i got on it, at least. So this is typical?

It's called a bog...it's very normal turbo lag if you don't get the RPMs up in 1st gear.

It's very unlikely to be the clutch if this was in 1st gear. It would be slipping in all the higher gears first before noticing it in 1st. I think it's a classic turbo lagging bog.
