Your stating like yours is really bad...when I turn mine to the last blue, it isn't bad. If it's all the way red, it's hot as hell since the Engine heat will come into the cabin.

Try turning your knob all the way to A/C, it should close the vents from engine to Cabin. Mine does anyway...The Evo A/C sucks. My 03 8 sucked and my 9 sucks. You have to wait a little before it will cools the entire Cabin down and start feeling it. Also if you start driving it will cool down faster.

Question: I've heard that turning off a car engine while the A/C is on is actually a bad thing.

Anyone heard this before or have a possible explanation y it might/might not be true?

I have heard that too. I never understood it but I always turn my A/C off anyway.

i have the same problem. I turn the recirculating button on and there is definitley no air coming out of the vents but it is just plain old hot inside the cabin. Doesn't matter if it's hot outside or not. I just roll with the windows down....always haha.

Mine seems to work fine. The first day I had it, I drove it home for an hour and it was 90+ outside. It was hot in the beginning but it cooled down with the AC cranked up!

Or turn the a/c on till cold air blows out a little, then turn the a/c off... the air seems to stay cool after that.

so all knobs are turned all they way left? Also, it should never be in defrost mode. If you are still getting heat, then strip down to yo nekked a$$.

I run with my Knob all the way right (Red) and the Mode Knob set to the feet only. Even in the Summer Time. I tend to get sleepy when Warm/hot air flows into my eyes constantly. haha. If it gets too hot, I turn the knob to the blue, if that doesn't help, I turn the A/C on but max is 2. Never 3 or 4 unless it's really hot and I just need the A/C to cool up faster...

sounds like you should take it in to the stealership and have them service your problem. on my bmw the entire a/c system broke and they replaced a capacitor or something and fixed it up. your cabin shouldn't be hot with no heat on and mild temperatures.
