How quick is the Infiniti M45?

I was in traffic this morning and I needed to merge out of a lane that was ending. I can usually punch it and merge ahead of any car, but this M45 stayed ahead of me and I had to merge behind him . How quick are those things? I am not the fastest Evo (bone stock, 67K on the original clutch and I need new tires) and it was a last second merge instead of a concentrated launch from the stoplight. That M45 seemed quick and I'd like to know next time if I should even bother...

4.5l V8 with 335hp, not bad... looks pretty nice for a sensible family saloon car competing with those Germans. The weight numbers vary from 3,889Ibs to 4,032Ibs, available with RWD or AWD V6 or V8. It can hold more fuel than our cars, about 6 more gallons and it's made by Nissan.

I was driving into work this morning around 645 am and was cruising around 80 and next thing I know I have an Infiniti something on my tail. I was in forth gear behind a slow poke in the left lane, saw a opening and launched thru the gap in the center lane and the Infiniti stayed with me. It was the model that looks like the 350z but only more refined. They seem fast but have not tried to beat one from a stop light.

That would be a G35 I assume aka. Skyline GT-S in Japan with a VQ35DE motor and RWD. I don't think he can stick too close to you unless your stock and he's modded because those cars are fairly fat and require some Jenny Craig to lose the love handles.

timmiii- I was not getting on it too much either and yeah mine is stock. I slow down for him to catch up then launched again and it took him awhile to catch up but then he past me as I was getting off the freeway. He was a wanna be for sure. I'm sure he thinks he has a fast car....

A buddy has a supercharged g35 and every other kind of bolt on and it is doing 450rwhp. His car is a serious sleeper until you hear that supercharger.

some others

I was just about to trade my 05 evo in for an M45 sport but i got the G35 coupe instead. I needed to get out of the modding world for a little while. I test drove the M45 and at 25 mph in the rain with the traction control off, i floored it and it broke the wheels lose for a second. it has very good pickup. I ended up getting a fully loaded g35 coupe cuz i wanted 6 speed. with 298hp its pretty quick, but obviously nothing like the 380whp evo I had. just some info for you guys too:

The M35 comes in AWD and RWD. M35=3.5L V6 making 288hp
The M45 only comes in RWD. M45=4.5 V8 making 335hp.

The G35 has 298hp and is also a 3.5L V6. in Japan its called the Skyline 350GT.

this may sound crazy but my g35 coupe feels just as good around the same local turns I used to hang the evo around. with rear active steering and bridgestone potenza re050's the G35 handles awesome and feels very predictable and evenly balanced. the car has 245/40/19's and 225/45'/19's stock. Same tires as the STI also. only problem in the G is if your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd taking turns hard the traction control will kick in and slow you down. turn the TC off and it gets real fun but you gotta be careful you dont lose it and spin out!!!

It's the V35 Skyline 350GT in Japan. Not a GT-S.

I drove a G35 before and I was not impressed at all. Nice luxury cruiser but definitely not a sports car. Heck, it wasn't even very comfortable.
