Changing Cigarette lighter bulb! HELP!

I need help changing my cigarette lighter bulb. I've seen the instructions mrbttk1 and the rest is good except the cigarette lighter part. It's ultra vague..

I've taken the ashtray out, taken the black screw out, taken my shift knob out and the piece won't come out!!!

" Cigarette lighter ring: to remove the plastic grey part, take your ashtray out and take out black screw directly beneath it. Remove shift knob, and you can take out the plastic part to access bulb. "

that's what it said..

maybe i'm missing something, but can someone help me and break it down. THANKS!!

I own a EVO IX if that helps..

cool, that's what I thought. Some people are saying you remove one screw in the ashtray and remove the shift knob, then remove the top plastic piece. I'm pretty sure that's a crock of sheit.

I actually got to my ashtray bulb by doing that. The gray panel needs to be pryed up. There are clips all along the side. It was tricky to get to the bulb this way but if you can fit your hands in there its doable.

Quick question relating this thread. My cigarette lighter ring light is off and so is the one inside the ashe tray. Now is a fuse powering these lights up that probably broke? Or is the lights themselves broken? I just noticed it one day out of the blue that it wasnt working..

Eh, I replaced mine with LEDs.

Brighter light and they last a bajillion times longer than any incandescent bulb.

You can get them for like $1 a piece from superbrightleds dot com.
