Seems 100% correct/factual.

I've witnessed this same thing occur on several 2g dsms.

Mitsubishi had a recall on the 2g dsms for lower balljoint failure. It doesn't matter if your car is lowered or not. Obviously it will put more wear on the ball joints, but it sure as hell won't casue the balljoint to completely fail unless your car is riding on the bump stops and it is SLAMMED.

Obviously the reason the cv joint seperated was because of the outer spline still being bolted to the hub assembly. DEFINITELY a warranty issue. There is almost nothing they could ahve done to make the car do that.

I'm having trouble understanding why you guys started taking stuff apart if you're seriously expecting to make a warranty claim. I didn't take my broken dishwasher apart before I called the Maytag guy. Why did you?

Wow, Mitch you posted this. This is actually my car, and no we didn't pull apart the axles. This happend when I was one street away from my house. We had to get it towed to my driveway and it took the tow truck guy about 2 hours total to get it there because he couldn't figure out a way to get the car to my house without damaging it, but infact he did and that axle part broke off.

the axle came apart because of the lower ball joint comeing apart from the spindle. it look like whoever did any work to the car didnt tighten or possibly didnt even install the bolt. go back to who ever did the work and demand they pay for the repairs, rental, and make sure you tell them you had your family in the car and it couild have killed you all. the only reason the axle didnt come apart before the tow truck was you probebly wernt going very fast. If you would have been going highway speeds chances are the wheel and strut assy would have at the least taken out the fender and possibly you and your family when you lost control of the car.
If it was you that had the car apart recently then its all on you and I would think twice about working on your car.
this kind of thing can kill people and likely will get the tech that worked on it fired.
