water absorbs more energy. alcohol cools better though as it has a lower latent heat of evaporation which means basically ALL of it is vaporized which maximizes cooling. this is why you see big torque jumps with alcohol.

both alcohol and water increase effective octane as they both absorb heat that would otherwise go towards predetonation.

alcohol is used additionally as a fuel which is where water doean't and hence is just a heat sink.

if you are worried about your injection system failing running water is just as bad as running alcohol. if you don't have the proper fail safes built in... you're running against the clock.

you can use safc to store different maps and then just take the whole extension harness out when you go in for work. good luck hiding your alcohol fuel cell though.

there is just about no way to give someone far away a customized ecu. this is why you use a piggyback that can store a real rudimentry map. a piggyback that you can unplug easily at any time.

For warranty reason, I like this option best. Is the S-AFC still the best tool for this type of application?...I have used the UTEC in the past (for multiple maps) but I wasn't pleased with the technology. I would like a multiple map solution in a piggy back.

i would rather run ecu+. mainly cuz the tech is better as you've brought up. also because you can hide it so no one sees (cubby behind ecu). other than the physical unit and the extension harness... it's invisible. you can zero it out no prob.
