Sadly the morinic police catagorize evos as "street racers"

This is what the cali cop told me when I asked him how he felt making a career out of pasisng out lame tickets

he said

"I am doing my part to get you 'street racers' off the street"

The fact that I never race on the street seemed to be lost on him

The only hope is through an orginization like SEMA working through lobbying efforts in the state legislatures

Honestly, this is the most absurd infringement of your own personal rights in my opinion.

i got pulled over by a cop in NJ, which by comparison, is far less strict than CA. Moving to PA, we dont even have emissions testing in my otherwise remote county.

But back to NJ. Office Jack MeHoff pulled behind me, much like he did to you and said "Wheres your front bumper?" I had just taken it off my otherwise destroyed stock front bumper, so I told him that.

He said "I'll let you go, but you're full of ****."

"Excuse me?"

He replied, "You heard me...Ive seen you on that black and gold bike of yours with all those punks, I figured you'd buy this Jap piece of $hit."

I said "Look, are you going to write me a ticket?"

"No...Im not"

I mustered the gusto and said "Then take that baton and go fu*k yourself with it"

That was worth the 43 dollar ticket for unclear plates. He wrote me the ticket and told me that he was going to wait for me to leave and get me for something. I told him I already had his badge number, name and was going to file a report and if, in fact that he harrassed me anymore, would pursue legal action, as I did nothing wrong.

Remembering a line from GoodFellas I turned around as he was getting himself together and said "Hey Officer, what are you still doin here? I thought I told you to go fu*k yourself?"

He waited for me to leave...but to his surprise, I had a friend pick me up, and had permission to leave the car there, as the whole sub-shop saw it.

Sorry to bastardize the thread...but that was my one and only triumph over a cop, even though I was out 40 bucks.

See, Al, you're right....you never street race....

On the other hand, street racing is a BIG problem and we get profiled in with them.

As sad as it is, Im sorry to say we, ourselves, need to influence the punks of the street racing...this Fast and Furious garbage does NOT help.

I have street raced...but only in an unorganized bump into each other on the highway, go from a roll type thing.

THis organized garbage is NO fun, especially for us older guys who get the reprecussions of the 17 year olds whos parents bought them a car....and proceed to wreck it.

In PA, around where I live....in fact, there are LESS reprecussions to blowing a .08 on a DUI and getting caught street racing, as advised by a very well spoken, nice state policeman who had stopped to help a friend with a blown engine.

Over 20 kids have died up here in a years time, I think....but one is more than enough. Its ridiculous....but the real question is...what can we do to get the real offenders to spend the time to get ONTO a track and off the street, hence getting the cops off of our backs?

I used to live in cali (San Diego)and understand your pain. One time I got pulled over when I had a 77 280z the female cop rolled up to my window and said that my car mathes the profile of a "drug runner" car. I was fairly young..17-18 at the time and I was like WTF!!?? I thought to myself, thanks for profiling me like that...seems like they just wanted to give me a hard time because we were a couple of young kids in a 280z cruising around. Seems like the cops over there rely heavily on profiling boy racer car these days and it sucks. Over here in NC the police here dont even look twice at imports here....it's great.

  1. Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.

I think you mean the conformist conservative's who want the whole world to fit into a nice little box......that they can provide......for a nominal fee off course.

They would like to see us drive nice consevative Buicks and Lexus that don't create much noise and blend into the background. We don't want any loud noise's during the Sunday morning 11:00 service now, do we?

I just got pulled over on the highway this Saturday going 5 mph UNDER the speed limit. I was in the slow lane and got picked out of traffic. Once he saw I was not some "young kid" he started to give me crap that my windows looked too dark and was my exhaust legal. I have the quietest exhaust you can get a RM01A, with a HFC and the muffler painted no gloss black.

What a friggin waste of time and a violation of my civil rights.

If this continues it may affect the sales of imports among the demographic they need the most.

feldguy: that's f'in funny and redunculous at the same time! what town in NJ was this? in my evo i only got pulled over once in Westfield at like 4am the night before turkey day. it was flurrying and the cop still had the patience to make a U-turn and pull me over in that weather. he shined the flashlight over my dashboard like 3 times and said that i was missing front plate. to that i replied with "what? r u kidding me??" (i always have my front plate on). he told me to hold on and went to the front to look. then came back and said.... "ohhh it's on the SIDE" he then asked me what i had in the backseat. i had blizzak ws50 tires, which were waiting to go on the car, covered by a blanket. after that he sent me on my way.
i think in general, NJ cops r more lenient overall. he prolly just wanted to make sure i didn't steal the car and was driving away with some crap in the back at 4am. but whatever.

Regardless if the meaning, CA is run by liberal democrats and whatever laws are passed are a direct result of this. Yeah I know Arny is the gov, but the rest is straight-up leftist Marxist communist pinkos.

I find it funny they crack down on the "street racers" by coming down on the group of car owners that are probably close to the top of the list for taking their cars to the track to race them because they see these cars in a movie.

Maybe they should bust Mustangs asses for Gone in 60 seconds. If you drive an old mustang you must be a car thief.

It's stupid but, hey what do expect with the example the white house sets. We don't need to obey the laws because we make them.

Man this is scary cause i live in sm county, what best buy were you in San Carlos?

Also to you tards who keep throwing around the word communist, you clearly have no idea what it means, communism has nothing to do with infringement of personal liberties, in fact in an actual communist society there is no government. Totalitarian is the word you're looking for, as in despite different economic systems both **** Germany and Communist Russia were totalitarian.

And i'm gonna hopefully be one of those young gun lawyers in a few years and when I am I'm gonna do my best to stop this crap. The redicoulous thing about the stuff going on in the Peninsula right now is that it's a response to sideshows, or basically when a bunch of lowriders and stuff like that do donuts. This makes absolutely no sense considering you'll hardly ever find an import at a sideshow, i'm sure if i took my evo i'd get shot or something...
