Water entering through hood vent is not a problem with stock air box. Value of lower temps in engine compartment offsets any concerns with the water.
Bonus: Rising steam looks cool when stoped in traffic in the rain.

thanks to all the replies!!!

i just wasn't too sure about the hood vents with water. cos sometimes it can rain a lot here in nyc and even some really bad winters w/loads of snow. so im guessin that the heat shield should not be removed,,,if i want to change the header???

the EVo that im gonna be gettin will be at potamkin,,im askin for white,,they don't have that color,,,second choice would be silver,, and third would be black. Yes, i will be gettin it at msrp $30,812 with roof,,gotta have the roof
anyone know where i can get a better deal? EvoJimbo?

The White(hopefully)Evo will be mine,,,Oh Yes,,,It will be mine,,

has anyone put their car through a touch-free car wash?
thinking of doing this in the winter time, cause too cold to wash the car myself or the hoses are off at the house... frequent washes will keep the salt off the car.

any problems with the vent or wing?

I guess if you're driving the car and water gets in there it's not a problem. But I noticed that while the car was sitting in the dealer lot water must have dripped through the vent and right on to the exhaust manifold. Because now there's so rust spots all over the manifold. Is this a concern? I'm taking it back to the dealer tomorrow to have the brake air ducts installed so should I mention it to them while I'm there?
