Angry Think im getting screwed over!

SO i brought my car into the mitsubishi dealer today with 1000 miles on it. to get it check and they said that the clutch is worn from driving. I go wtf i had the car for 3 weeks and they said i have to replace the clutch and its 1200 bucks !!! hurts the wallet. but thats not it they said the clutch caused the radiator hose to pop off and the clamp fell off and caused the fan to snap and create a hole in the radiator which caused a coolant leak. and im like wtf the car is 35 grand and they already trying to get me for 2400 bucks to fix everything! they trying to screw me over my warranty they said that mitsubishi does not cover the clutch under warranty you woulda think a 35 thousand dollar car would cover the clutch.i also bought a 2006 eclipse from them 6 speed and i guess that clutch aint under warranty either if so. i think im gettin ripped off and now im left with no car till friday. I dont understand how a clutch would be worn if i only had 1000 miles on it and havn't over reved or high reved yet.

So how exactly did the clutch cause the radiator hose to come off to cause all of the rest of the damage? You are getting royally screwed, I would suggest calling the 1-800 number and complaining. You might be sol on the clutch, but I would ask. Doing a lot of launches?

With all due respect I believe your main problem is that your logic isn't helping you grow some *****. Seriously I hope that maybe some comments in here will help you go back in there and raise some hell. I can't believe that you are actually willing to pay for so much work for a car that has 1,000 miles on it. You need to wise up, get a lawyer if you have to or atleast start writing some letters and raising some hell. good luck.

clutch should be covered. they are covered for the first 10k miles those along with brake pads. if its not 10k then its at least 5k and your at 1k so you are getting ripped. ask to speak to the service manager and if he is no help ask for the warrenty rep for your region. then RAISE some hell.

take it to a different dealer. I can believe the clutch going in 1000 miles if you drive it stupid. (how many launches, and how many years of past clutch experience)? If you fried the clutch you should eat the cost, kinda like expecting them to replace a rim you curbed. As far as the radiator, that is utter BS and I would ask for a written discription about how the clutch caused the rad failure.

Exactly.

If they tried to pull that crap with me I'd yell bloody hell from the service department to the showroom at that dealership. Then I'd stand on the nearest street corner with a sandwichboard proclaiming them as crooks and handing out fliers in the intersection. The service managers would definately regret underestimating my capacity for reducing their sales volume.

I've been driving for 2 years i had a 2005 rsx-type-s and this never happened to me i think i burned a clutch a few times but not even wearing out the clutch happened would think a 35 thousand dollar car would be better and more sturdy and no i havn't launched or anything i just broken in the car had it since 5/31 and now the clutch is said to be worn and they said that it might be a factory defect but they have to take apart the clutch which means they had to take out the transmission and then that cost another 800 for labor and i was pretty mad when he gave me a phone call i spent 35g's on the car expecting it to be in good condition and its pretty stupid to sell a 35 g car with no clutch warranty with all the power it has but ill get back at this when all things are settle.

If you present yourself at the dealership and speak like that I can see why they think you're a moron and are taking advantage of you.

They must think your stupid because the clutch has nothing to do with a coolant leak. The clutch could be covered as a "good will" item if they wanted to. Call 1-800-222-0037 im sure they will take care of you. If you have any more questions or need some help let me know im a service writer at Riverside Mitsu and I could help you get the ball rolling
