Beverly Hills.....modified exhaust ticket....ESPELIR JGT 500

so got pulled over 20 min ago.
got a "modified exhaust too loud" ticket.

i have an Espelir JGT 500 catback.
on lancershop.com it says that the exhaust is street legal. that's what i told to the cop and he said that as long as i can provide paperwork saying that the exhaust is below 75db, i will get the infraction taken off.

link to lancershop:

http://lancershop.com/customer/produ...&cat=68&page=1

any of you guys have the paperwork about the exhaust? or maybe know of a site that has info?

thanks.

If you've only got the catback portion on then you may be in compliance. If you can't get a sound data sheet from the manufacturer, you should be able to go to an emissions referee and get a sound test.

^ sweet, that;s what i was thinking.
i just wanted to get away with it without going to the courthouse. takes forever, and parking there is 15 bux
plus i have to take 1/2 day off work.

in all i end up loosing like $100.

i too from So-Cal...damn POPO got nothing better to do but pull us EVO owners over.. i got pulled over for my plates and he told me to pop my hood open. Man i hate when they tell me to pop my hood Plus he told you 75DB for your exhaust hahaaha damn em PIGS...oh well...anyways like everyone is saying PUT the silencer and roll to the emissions referee and you'll pass it hands down. or if you can find a certificate then it'll be more easier.. well hope all goes well...

+1, I have the same exhaust and it came with a blue paper with info saying that it is street legal and a "replacement to OEM, not aftermarket..." some legal crap, maybe that will help you out. If you don't have it let us know, I keep mine in my glove box incase I need to bust it out. I can scan it for you

The little sheet of paper also says that the silencer may be required to meet noise requirements in some states.
