Escalating Evo Crimes
yup when my car got egged 2 weeks ago i felt like killin somebody too.....
i am very paranoid now. on top of ALWAYS parking my car in a garage overnight, i always, ALWAYS, park my car in my sight every chance i get, so i can monitor the car even when i'm eating, taking a test, working, etc etc....
it's very sad that things have gotten this way.

I have all of my softball stuff in my trunk at all times, including a bat.

I wasn't pissed so much at the spit, but more the general attitude of people that would make them do that. I love my car. When I first got it, I would randomly walk into my garage just to look at it sitting there. I waited so long for the Evo to come to this country and it was a dream come true to finally have it in my garage. To have some hater spit on it, it's all I can do to spare them their life.

I carry a box cutter, and my metal torque wrench, which is about 2' long and somewhat heavy, but can be used as a weapon also.
My younger bro has access to a pocket/handheld stun gun. Its powered by a 9V battery, and I've got to play with it as well..... It makes enough electricity to knock a person off their feet and to immobilize them....
cad evo i agree, but i still haven't heard of any EVO's being stolen yet-it's strange that we own the #2 most stolen car in the US. it's either gotta be carjackings or insurance fraud. don't know, but i wish a motha f---- would try to steal either of my EVO's...
sorry u got keyed man.
as far as EVO attention goes, i had been pulled over for "supposedly street racing" back in March. i was found not guilty since all 3 EVO's were travelling in a tight pack & the cop couldn't prove racing versus a bunch a cars just speeding. THE COP DID MENTION THAT THEIR POLICE CRUISERS CANNOT CATCH AN EVO. doesn't help that we own the star car in new FnF movie either.
people always want what they can't have so we just have 2 be extra careful. we are a rare breed, almost car "celebrities". it's like owning a Lambo-not the most expensive exotic, but the most noticeable...

I love it the way it is
^^^True to an extent. There are definitely instances when people vandalize your car because they've encountered you before and have a personal reason to mess with your ride. I'm not condoning it, I'm just saying people will almost never admit to acting like a--holes. Depending on your situation, people could key your car because:
-They saw you driving like a jackhole some time and wanted to teach you a lesson
-You gave them a dirty look (we all do that)
-You're a college kid with college rivals (fraternities, girls, etc...)
-You're a HS kid with HS rivals (girls, bragging, etc...)
-They've met you before and basically think you're a jackhole
Of course, there are definitely moments of random vandalism catalyzed by pure jealousy or hatred for the car (people on these boards prefer to think this is the case because no one wants to think/admit they are a--hats in their Evos). How do you minimize this?
-Don't daily drive your Evo. Sorry, but if this is your only car and you drive it EVERY and ANY where you want to go, that's the risk you're running. You don't think that guy who owns the Carrera drives it to the mall on Saturday nights while watching a late movie do you?
-Don't drive your Evo to parties, clubs and the like. Valet attendants and drunk clubbers are the biggest perpetrators of vandalized cars. Is it worth it to show off your freshly washed ride if it means coming back to the lot with a brick through your windshield? I used to have that show-off mentality but of course I only drove a $15,000 Civic at the time.
-Don't park your Evo overnight on the streets. If you don't have a garage to put your Evo in, it is almost inevitable that it will be messed with. Teenagers are dumb and jealous and you are only inviting bad luck when you park your car on the streets. If you don't have a garage then sux to be you.
-Avoid huge parking lots as a general rule. The more foot traffic that your Evo encounters, the higher the chances of vandalism. So many ricers and "gangsters" hang out at the mall, for example. Soon as they see your nice ride and no one else around, the keys come out.
Does this advice sound harsh? Heck yeah. Would it be a fair world if no one ever touched another man's car? Of course, but that's not the world we live in. You purchased a high power vehicle that DEMANDS attention not only by its looks and reputation, but also by the way SOME people drive on the streets (I have seen TONS of unsafe Evo drivers in the streets of Cali) so don't pretend your driving habits equate to Grandma Johnson's. It's the price you've paid and the road you've decided to take buying a car like this...I'm just waiting for my first act of vandalism because I know it's coming sooner or later.

I didnt see the new F&F movie yet....did the EVO get a good amount of "air time" or not? cuz if it did then I understand people will take more notice of it when the see an EVO on the street
