Escalating Evo Crimes

-They saw you driving like a jackhole some time and wanted to teach you a lesson
-You gave them a dirty look (we all do that)
-You're a college kid with college rivals (fraternities, girls, etc...)
-You're a HS kid with HS rivals (girls, bragging, etc...)
-They've met you before and basically think you're a jackhole
Of course, there are definitely moments of random vandalism catalyzed by pure jealousy or hatred for the car (people on these boards prefer to think this is the case because no one wants to think/admit they are a--hats in their Evos). How do you minimize this?
-Don't daily drive your Evo. Sorry, but if this is your only car and you drive it EVERY and ANY where you want to go, that's the risk you're running. You don't think that guy who owns the Carrera drives it to the mall on Saturday nights while watching a late movie do you?
-Don't drive your Evo to parties, clubs and the like. Valet attendants and drunk clubbers are the biggest perpetrators of vandalized cars. Is it worth it to show off your freshly washed ride if it means coming back to the lot with a brick through your windshield? I used to have that show-off mentality but of course I only drove a $15,000 Civic at the time.
-Don't park your Evo overnight on the streets. If you don't have a garage to put your Evo in, it is almost inevitable that it will be messed with. Teenagers are dumb and jealous and you are only inviting bad luck when you park your car on the streets. If you don't have a garage then sux to be you.
-Avoid huge parking lots as a general rule. The more foot traffic that your Evo encounters, the higher the chances of vandalism. So many ricers and "gangsters" hang out at the mall, for example. Soon as they see your nice ride and no one else around, the keys come out.
Does this advice sound harsh? Heck yeah. Would it be a fair world if no one ever touched another man's car? Of course, but that's not the world we live in. You purchased a high power vehicle that DEMANDS attention not only by its looks and reputation, but also by the way SOME people drive on the streets (I have seen TONS of unsafe Evo drivers in the streets of Cali) so don't pretend your driving habits equate to Grandma Johnson's. It's the price you've paid and the road you've decided to take buying a car like this...I'm just waiting for my first act of vandalism because I know it's coming sooner or later.

Good post, good advice..
I wanna also add that for those of us with hgh powered EVO's I'd say just take it easy on the street and take your wild driving to the track....if at all possible.
My EVO has never been messed with yet, knock on wood. I treat everyone with respect including other motorists on the road, if they provoke me then its a different story, but for the most part I have no enemies and try to keep a low profile..
In a yellow EVO its hard, but you really have to be wise and mature owning such a performance machine like the EVO.
How many Viper, Corvette, Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari owners do you see driving like punks on the street compared to the majority of the young people in the import crowd? The guys driving those exotics have nothing to prove and know that their car can perform...
anyhow, people try to drive respectably and calmly on the streets...we dont need anymore negative publicity
guys... check out an alarm system called asian wolf.
it has a proximity sensor... takes colour pics of the perpetrator and even sends it to your remote control.. which has an lcd screen.
i'm not sure what the international links are.. but... www.asianwolf.co.za
if people get to close to your car.. you'll know about it!

Asainwolf is an awesome idea. Totally allows you to be excused from work or school for a delivery of proper **** beating via photo on your remote!
Tokyo drift and the red RWD Rhys Millan evo just dropped our car a notch in respect to the coppers and haters... Hating is sure to rise.
Kids on school buses will always love us though
I remember a time before the Civic movement when a nice big factory wing didnt get you in trouble it just got you thumbs up...
Next time a suburban redneck 'car guy' gives you heat hating on the ole EVO WING remind 'em of these....

Im asking all evo owners not to escalate the situation by making remarks on rival car forums and not to troll. People hate our vehicles because they envy us. If you hear your car alarm go off, go check your car! dont fall back asleep. Report any type of vandalism towards your automobile. Police have been known to give us a hard time, but at the same time they should be protecting our property. We need to get this out in the open and stop this stupidty. Law enforcement is already aware of the high theft rate of our vehicles, they should also be aware of the high rate of vandalism targeted at our vehicles. I have already reported the damage my car has incurred in my neighborhood, and now i have noticed an increased amount of patrolling in my neighborhood alone. Lets help everyone out by stopping these idiots. In the end we are all apart of the same community, lets help each other.
