Sorry guys... there is no cable running to the transmission.

It's all electronic, only wires. I guess you should be looking for a faulty sensor, or a bad ground connection, etc.

I took the speedometer once, right when I bought the car. To be honest I don't remember what was the problem, but I didn't fix it. I think I thought I had to get another speedometer.

P.S What happens to the milege if you get new speedometer. n00b question - sorry, but that's the first time I own the car with digital speedometer. ECU keeps track of your miles?

What mods do you have? I would take it to the dealer right away. I don’t think typical mods are going to negate your warranty in this case. That’s a defect plain and simple.

i remember there was a thread on this a while back. someone else with a 9 had their speedo sticking as well.

think he took it to the dealership to get it fixed. what mods do you have? if it's just a few don't think they will deny warrenty. but mitsu does suck at warrenty though with our cars.

they will deny warrenty if you tint your windows, something about it changing the overall balance of the car. haha

Don't know if this will help you, but I had to have the instrument pod replaced on a Lincoln and the mileage was the same afterwards.

Ok, thanks. Then I'll probably buy new cluster, and forget about the problem
