depreciation of the IX when the X comes out?

Hey All,

I am looking to pay for an IX in a couple of months and I am wondering if, and how much, the dealership will lower the cost on the remaining IX's at the stealer.. dealership to get them off the lot... Any ideas on this rough estimate? And, will it still be possible in Sept-Oct to purchase a brand new IX? When is the SE coming out?

Mods: I wasnt sure where to put this...

Thanks,

Tj

I don't think the X is coming out for at least 1.5 yrs, so I would not expect any deals any time soon

Good luck getting a deal like that. Any dealership would be losing a lot of money letting an MR go for that much. If that is your budget then you could go for a new RS or maybe a GSR w/o SSL. A used Evo 8 is another and probably the best choice.

I don't see the Cedia chassis based evo's taking too much of a hit when the X arrives, esp. if the X turns out to be an overweight, wanna-be GT car with heated seats.

I heard they will be coming out with a 9.5 since IX is done this year and X comes in 2008. Don't expect any deals regardless. Evo is a good seller, if you don't buy it someone else will.

They are hard to find now, besides South Coast Mitsu.

I am predicting the X will be a flop. No more 4G63 = no more Evo. It will probably increase the resale value of the VIII and IX.

The X will flop, they wont get it right for at least two years. Unless the Evo X has the new M3 and S4 in its performance sights its going to flop. Its going to take 350hp to sell and I know Mitsu wont do that off the bat.

IX resale prices will do well middle of next year.
