Is that two whole years? :-) The Evo is an amazing car, but it can bite back. Good luck with the new purchase.

THANKS everyone for the nice comments...so far i realize my evo when i have the car on reverse and i put it back to neutral the rpm drops real low and then goes back to normal...also if i brake really hard like a sudden stop the rpm would drop a lil bit and go back normal...is that suppose to be normal or not??

also the dealership told me i got 3 month 3000 mile warranty...does anybody know what the warranty covers?? also i have 30k on the car and i know im suppose to do the 30k maintenance but i never got the owners manual so i dont know so if somebody would be nice enough to tell me what the 30k maintenance is then i would really appreciate it. so far im loving the car and this site. thanks everyone

Not to be a jerk but you got ripped off for an 03. Yeah, the dealerships inflate prices big time. Actually, most everyone on here has gotten ripped off compared to the prices that the California dealerships are charging. (I can't remember the name but the thread is going strong on this site) You can buy an 06 evo 9 RS with 500 mitsu loyalty for 25,500 and that includes destination. It's like a grand to have it flat beded to east coast so for 26,500 you could have a freaken 06 nine. That pisses me off big time because I had to order my car and wait for the dealership to get it...than I paid sticker which I think was like 31 grand. So yeah I got ripped off too, but that was two years ago.

Welcome to the world of Evo's. You should be happy no matter what you paid. Its a freaken evo...thats all that matters.

You made a monstrous mistake. You did little to no market research on Evos, nor did you inspect the car you bought. You're asking questions that should've been asked before you signed on the dotted line. You just contributed to encouraging sales people at car dealerships to continue with their tactics. There are many, many great deals out there for VIIIs. You bought on impulse. Dude, smarten up!

Now, what's the sales person's name and what's the number of the place where you bought this car? Everyone who reads this thread should call this guy or gal and b-itch at 'em. Then, we should demand that the car be inspected through-and-through with a "fine tooth comb" by a reputable Mitsu dealer. Anything found bad should then be covered by this BS of a warranty - 3 month, 3K miles - what a joke! Definately get the severe 30K mile service covered under this BS warranty.

All in all, unbelievable!

Nevermind. I found the following in the only other thread you posted in - a thread that was placed after you bought your Evo:

"payment - 386
insurance - 306 a month...3200 a year full coverage

im 24 years old...can i ask ppl who is younger or same age as me and has cheap insurance...what insurance company do u use?"

You managed to do better with the financing portion of the deal. At least there's a little relief in all of this.

Unbelievable? If the only "percieved" problem is a slight rpm drop between gears I wouldnt be too worried! I dont think its an indication of low compression! It may be as minor as a sticking IAC valve, or nothing at all.....maybe he just thinks theres a problem!

And second, you tell him to smarten up? I would think someone with your intelligence would know that warranty DOESNT COVER ANY MAINTENANCE!!

Everytime I have bought a car I found one cheaper a month or so later. **** happens. You have an EVO, so be happy and move on!

You sound like a car salesman yourself. At that price, a severe 30K mile maintenance should've been included. "... a week later." you say? Get real. Not so in this case. Deegaw didn't do his research.
