I have the HKS one and it works great. You can make presets for different driving styles (boosting or not boosting). Plus half the fun for me is getting out of my car and seeing peoples reaction when I lock the doors and the car is still running and it just turns off suddenly. You guys make it seem like $100 is a lot of money and he should save it, you can't do much else with $100 now anyways. My .02

I know I dont really need it but it is a cool toy to add. It does not hurt the car either.

I have the Greddy timer and I set it to beep when I am above 85mph. Most of the time there is no need to go above 85mph and with the evo it is very easy to get there. Once it starts beeping I start to slow down becasue of the annoying sound, somewhat like a radar detector.

Its also cool as a conversation piece to girls.
"Hey your car is still on!"
"Oh that is the turbo timer"
"Whats that?....."

If you have spare money I say go for it especially if you DD your car and like to drive hard a lot. Save the annoyance of sitting in your car....

I've got the greddy. It's pretty nice. I always leave it on the voltage display just to keep an eye on another part of my car. I have yet to try out any of the other features yet, and I will be doing so when I get home.

I was under the impression that TTs screw with the factory immobilizer....aside from that I think they are useless.

like some of the others said, if you have money to burn then get one. that's what i did

but i didn't get the greddy...i got the hks type 1 with the hks harness. i didn't tap into the ecu coz i'm waitin for a boomslang ecu IX harness. i didn't wanna tap into the original wire harness coz i heard that it can void warranty, but don't quote me on that. with the wire harness extension, i plan to run s-afc and hks eids.

i have an apex'i tt and i like it alot. it was a very easy instal (i didn't bother splicing anything into the ecu for the a/f ratios) and it is quite small and therefore easy to mount anywhere you choose with just some double sided tape.

i actually have mine right in front of my face. there is a lip between where the steering wheel goes into the dash, and the gauge cluster starts that is just perfectly wide enough for it to sit. then you can run the wire right down into the steering column, very discreet.

-edit- oh yeah, and if you are going to get one, make sure you the compatible wiring harness for your ignition. on the apex'i unit, i just picked up the hks harness and it worked just fine. no cutting or splicing ignition wires.

greddy turbo timer i have and i think its the best, Especially in this florida heat we have because now its summer. im damn happy i spent the 80 bucks for it. its worth the money to prolong the life of your turbo and not have myself sit in the car for an extra few mins to cool her down i just get out like normal lock her up and im on my way. also if you do end up buying one whether greddy, HKS, or whatever get yourself the plug and play harness, it will make the install ALOT easier.

LOL of course its not necessary. Its totally up to the driver. If you're someone who drives your car hard 90% of the time, it might be convenient to buy one.

Without a TT i noticed after driving the popcorn popping noise after the car is shutoff. Now after I got the greddy TT it doesn't do it anymore. So next time you drive your car listen for it after you shut it off and ask yourself is it worth the 100 or so.
