This is good. I know what you mean I am only 155 and 5'10" so I have no problem at all. I know these seats were made bigger just for us bigger Americans. The Japen seats are a little smaller. I think it may be you and the seats. What to do? Gym and possibly a new wider Sparco or Recaro? Maybe you will just get used to it after awhile.

hey guys I just got back from a 2k road trip NYC-ATL-NYC. NO CRUISE CONTROL and only stopping for gas/pee breaks. The car rules! I had to pee more often cause the side bolsters of the recaros push on the kidneys but no pain. my right foot fell asleep from keeping the accelerator pedal floored for 14 hours each way! I love this car

Anyone else have this kind of problem?

I would hate the thought of having to get different seats?

im 6-2 and 270,,,,, I just lost 25 lbs, and thought these seats were much much better, until today... ouch kidney pain.

ps. I dont think it is a stone or anything,,, it comes and goes, but only really feel it sometimes when Im sitting in the car.

hey guys, i think i may have solved ur probs, i showed my dad this, and he came up with a plan, and guess what it works
if u look under the seat, where it attaches to the braket, go to ur hardware store and get some cheap rubber bushings(just trust me, ) i dont remember what size, jus take off the passenger seat and show em the bold and test em till u find one that works, then buy one for each bolt that connects the seat, the bushings should be about 1 inch tall, then go to the bolts, then find the same bolts but with the extra inch, trust me the should be there. once ur home, take out the seats, try it on the pass side to get it right for ur first time, put some grease on the new bolts, then slide the new bushings on after the bolts are in the braket, so it goes from top seatbottom, bushing, braket, then tighten it on and repeat for the other seat, makes our ride a bit better, make sure u get some soft bushings, not the hard plastic ones, soft rubber! , goodluck, i will try to get pics

The bolts you can get from a hardware store are likely not the same quality as the OEM ones. And by installing softer metal bolts, you are increasing the risk that your seats will shear from the rails in an accident.

I would suggest that no one tries this mod.

If your kidneys hurt that bad, you should see a doctor. If they still hurt after that, you should sell the car or learn to deal with it.

The Evo's ride isn't even remotely hard enough to cause kidney problems!

defintly lose weight, I had the same problem with my old Eclipse GSX(with adjustable sides), My kidney would start to hurt after a while. But after I lost 55lbs(not easy....) I had no problems with the evo seats now. btw, I'm 6'2 ~195lbs.

Not sure. The ride can be stiff going over bad roads. We get platy of that here.

I think it will go away with time.
Sounds like you need to check tire pressure. Mone were overinflated from the factory and it caused a VERY STIFF ride ... after removing some air the ride is now quite plaeasant, actually.

Where do you carry your wallet? Right hip pocket??? Try changing it and see if your pain goes away.

Adios,

No its not like George from Sienfeld........

No pain today...... I do think by losing more weight,,,, wanna get down to 245, will help.....

Anyone looking to lose weight,,,,, try Dr. Aktins way of eating for life.!!!! It simply is the greatest thing,,,,,,I have more energy, know what to not eat, sugar, refined flour......His power bars have saved my desert thing....

O well, I just thought I would see if anyone else has had this problem, Like I said it comes and goes,, with 1200 miles on the car I can say I have felt it 3-4 times,,, or maybe 10% of the time.

Thanks
