Problems with 04 evo

I just purchased my evo a few days ago knowing there were a few problems but could all be solved with a tune anyways, Im having a problem starting the car it doesnt want to turn over and it sounds like the starter is just moving but the motor isnt turning over but then after 3 tries and giving it a little throttle it will turn over and start. I just got a check engine light for (crank angle position sensor a malfunction in line) i think it said malfuncation 95% sure. It is also getting a code for random/multiple cylinder misfire but this will just come on when im driving and i cant feel anything happen usualy you can feel a misfire. the mods i have on the car are hks 272 cams, walbro 255 fuel pump, vishnu xede, perrin 3in dp and exhaust and 3in high flow cat.

Hello

daaaang thats sucks. Try removing the starter and putting it back on. if that doesn't work, you'll need and trained Evo mechanic.....cause I don't think Mitsu will warranty it.

If you bought it from a dealer, take it back. In most states you get at least one month warranty

you will need to remove the crank pulley, water pump pulley and the timing belt cover to see the crank sensor. its right where the crank is.
it might have gone bad, but usualy if they have, your car wont start up at all. see if your getting spark when u try to start it up.

well hopefully it has something to do with my vinshu xede then because that sounds like a lot of work just to get to a god damn sensor lol. when i try and start it, it sounds like when u accidently try and turn a car on and its already on and then eventualy after trying it enough it will turn over. im taking to a local shop called hybrid dynamics near where i live in youngwood, pa hope fully their tech guy will be able to help me out with a street tune and before that he will be able to find out why the hell this other **** is happening.

lol your retarded dude i didnt ask anyone to e-tune the ****ing car, i know it needs TUNED thats why i was taking it to get tuned on monday. This is a problem that has nothing to do with tuning thats why i was asking if anyone has had this problem before what i can look for where to look. Plus you just cant take a car back thats got some mods done to it and be like oh ya 3 days later its not running right, they dont know if you have been beating on it or what its a little more complicated it involves lawyers and such something you probably know nothing about.

Should i be hearing the fuel pump click on and stay running with the car in the ON position. Also could a bad starter be causing these problems? Starter will crank but does not turn the car over every once and a while you can see the cams move a little bit but not much.

1.) Try replacing the battery or getting a jump start.

2.) Check for spark by unplugging one of the ignition wires (while it is dark out) and seeing if it draws an arc against a metal surface (or just use a tool that lights up when it detects current flowing through a wire)

3.) If your battery is good, and the engine is turning over, and you have spark, then you have a fuel problem. Test the injectors and fuel pump.
