Then your talking about insurnace fraud..........you have to think that insurance doesnt want to pay up so there going to investgate.....which means your going to have to remember everything you lie about and make sure everything matchs up....if you get caught ahahah GOOD LUCK INSURANCE ANYTHING FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. Not worth it make your friend/friends parents pay because im assuming your in highschool.

I think you are screwed on getting the insurance to pay for it since you let an uninsured driver wreck your car. I think they would deny it for negligence.

At least it was to avoid hitting a dog and not screwing around.

I'd still go find an estimate and present it to your friend to pay for it. He took the car, he knew he was responsible for it -- he should pay for the repairs.

another example of an EVO in the hands of new/young drivers....insurance rates just went up..

If your a no fault state.. your insurance should cover other drivers (permission was given- Even at fault accidents)..better off calling your Insurance company though and asking... we don't know your coverages/exact situation.. (standard, broad form, etc) and don't tell them you were driving..

I found this website with frequently asked insurance questions..click on the link that states.."Is anyone who drives my car covered"..maybe it will help - http://personalinsure.about.com/cs/o...lfaqauto_3.htm

Yeah, you live and you learn. The police report will say who was driving the car and if you claim you were driving then you have a lot more to worry about than just paying for your ****ed up Evo. I would make your friend pay for the entire repair.

This is so wrong on so many levels.

This person is probably not insured... Does he actually have a valid driver's license? Has he ever driven anything like an Evo before. It is an easy car to drive with amazing handling but that leads many people to think you can violate the laws of physics.

I let my wife drive my car but she AutoXs so I know she knows how to drive... What has this guy driven before?

Good Luck. Dealing with insurance companies is a pain in the ***.

I would be careful about claiming it was you. Since there was a police report, I bet that it wouldnt work.

Sounds like a bone head decision to let him drive your car. He doesn't have a car for some reason, right? Sounds like you should of given it more thought before letting him use your EVO. Can't say I feel sorry for you. Suck it up and get what you get.....but dont try and get your insurance company envolved.

In the Insurance world you cover both the car and the driver... So if your car has insurance and the guy you let drive it weither or not he is covered on your plan it should be covered. Kinda of like test drives. If your car is covered and he is covered someone has to cover the accedent. Its as if he was test driving the car. You should be fine. And if he is an uninsured driver and you let him drive your car well then your dumb and I dont feel bad. But it should be covered either way...
