just one question.... do you still think drilling holes in the top of your airbox was a good idea?

Thank You Much, I reset the battery and just went for a drive. Besides forgetting to turn the boost back down and hitting 26psi it ran fine. Hmm, biggest waste of $32.15 and 30 minutes of time.

For sale: Custom fabricated airbox lid with 20 special inlet holes. Sold as is no warranty .

I have a funny story...

When I first got Evo I went a lil over 5k in the break in period and freaked out and thought they'd void my warranty because they would be able to tell that I went over during break in so someone on here told me to remove the battery cable and turn the key...I bet that did the trick.

Thats a good one!!

I have been around this site for a while, and I seriously NEVER heard of an airbox lid with holes in it, nor do I know of anyone using one. If there are dyno plots for it, and guarentees for it, I guess it would work. stay stock box (I still am) unless you go with a stand-alone and big turbo. glad things worked out!!

I actually have seen other people who did this somewhere in the depths of the forums. So he's not the only one.

I don't doubt it, but other than the Cones/drop-ins/suction sponges, and the ARC box, those are all I see on the shelves of the BIG tuner shops. never a "holy" lid. Maybe its like one of those "turbo any car for 69.99" ads in the back of magazines.

I would have used a 3/4" holesaw instead of the 1/4" bit. Honestly, I did try it on my Dodge Turbo Diesel, but must admit, I haven't the heart to try it on my Evo. Besides, you guys would probably find out and anyway it would look cheesy.
