Finally drilled my holes in the airbox...
First the good stuff, you can really hear the blow off valve and it does sound more aggressive. Now the bad my car won't boost past 16lbs. I put my old airbox top on and it still won't boost past 16lbs. I turned the boost all the way up and it only reached 19lbs. Is this strictly a coincidence or could this have screwed something up? I did seem to notice a hissing noise near the lower intercooler pipe, but couldn't see underneath with no lift. I checked all other connections, valves, hoses, etc. The car still seems to run fine, just no boost. Any suggestions?

You should disconnect the negative on the battery, as it will re-set the computer. you "tricked" it into thinking there was a "LEAK" somewhere, and you put the car in "limp-home" mode.

Yea, Blitz sells the kit the replaces the top section of your airbox for $150! Why couldn't I accomplish the same with an extra $30 air box lid and drill some holes? Gains have been seen with the lid completely removed, so what is the big deal?

hehe. I remmeber once, for schites and giggles, I took the top of my air box off and drove around the block. lol. My car ran like crap, I limped home with my tail between my legs, put the top of my air box on, realized I was a ricer, then went inside and ordered a works drop in filter. Those were the days... lol. (2 months ago) .
