03 is not much slower (mine is much faster), in fact, most of the current 03 on the street are faster. You're not going to hear the turbo spool and an intake alone will NOT help. That's all I can tell you. Be prepare for other members tell you to SEARCH.

Wrong sir. The IX motor has revised coolant passages, which allow for the mivec and the extreme knock resistance of the IX's motor. I've seen a few dynos of 24+ psi (spike not held) on 91 octane **** water - not knocking.

Yes, the 03s are much slower than the 06s. I don't think you should worry just about making power by removing boost taper. There's no exact answer to that question, but it will be part of your basic mod path. Please don't ask how to make the turbo spool before you even have the car. That's taking the path to destruction here on EvoM...

Ding ding - the coolant passages are also in the head, not the engine.

surprised the first 5 thousand posts to the OP's initial post weren't just "search".

but in all honesty, search mate, u will find LOTS of information here. i've found answers to every single questions/problems i've had about the Evo on this board...it's VERY INFORMATIVE.

ACD is useless and only adds weight. But.....you are right they did come with ACD.
