i am looking at some Evos and i would like to know what are the diffrences in the years? any real gains in performance. i know that the 9s have better motors. and the 03s interior is not as good looking as the 04+ is there any diffrences other then that?

 

- No difference from 03 to 04 except the SSL package being an option in 04, but the RS did come out in 04 stripped down with FLSD and aluminum roof.

- 03 interior is the same as 04 and 05, but not 06.

- IXs have the same motor.

You pretty much have everything mixed up.

 

The intake air control motor from my 03 to my friends 04 was totally different and interchangable, but that's besides the point.

the seats look diffrent from 03. and 04 right? maybe they just swaped the seats out. what so whats the hype about the Miveck motor if they are the same?

 

The standard seats are the same in the '03 and '04.

It is just that the sun, sound and leather package made its debut. The package includes, obviously a sunroof, leather and the 315 watt Infiniti 7 speaker sound system with subwoofer. HID's were not made optional and part of SSL until '05.

Other then that the '03 and '04's are the same, except for what makes the RS unique. All '04s had the big spoiler. The small OZ style spoiler was discontinued.

 

Is Miveck the same thing as Vtech?

 

MIVEC is in the head. The engine is the same.

 

The biggest difference is the front limited slip diff that came standard on the 05+. The 05+ also had a bit bigger hotside but thats only a $200 mod. The 03/04s all had HIDs.

 

Except for '04 RS's.

 

Jeff, 05s also got ACD, which is not a $200 mod, plus then there was the MR...

 

Besides what has been mentioned, here are the changes for '05:

Larger cupholder!!!!1111
Water sprayer dropped.
Wicked White replaced Weightless White
Electric Blue replaced Blue by You
Aluminum side impact bars -3.5kg
RS got thinner rear decklid

thank you guys verry much. i test drove an 06 RS and MR a week ago and now im set on getting an Evo. is the 03 much slower then the new 06's? and how much more power is gained by keeping the boost from tapering off? and what can i do so i can hear the turbo spool when i get on it? i read an intake will help. is that true?
