Oh, in that case, then the numbers are down a bit (not a lot). Girlie made 280/275 at BR with the basic stg 1 mods on 93oct - no fmic, no cam, normal pump gas boost, etc. She would likely make up that 19whp/35wtq difference with 26psi on 104 without the extra mods, but it's probably because the FMIC and single exhaust cam don't really add much at this level.
I agree with your assesment. Also, the high humidity probably didn't help either. I had the FMIC changed so I could be ready for a turbo change later. Just not sure what I want, since the computer availability is slim and NONE.
Yah, I think Girlie dyno'd in the cool months, so that probably helped her in this case, too.
You can go with a sizable turbo without needing more than a flash up to 500whp or so. If you really are shooting for 9s, then that's a whole different story, and my guess is that you'd need even a larger FMIC, haha.

Yeah, the FMIC and a BIG bolt in, like a different motor. I'm considering the GT30 range..middle of the road power, and streetability. Car was purchased to race only, but MIVEC wasn't in the equation to be an obstacle to BIG power. Now, it looks as though I may have to look at an VIII to get there, so I don't completely strip out a perfectly good IX, just to make it a IX with VIII head/harness etc.
